I've heard there are a few places that sell good name brand shoes for like $30 or less but I can't seem to find any of them. Do you guys know of any sites? I'm looking for basketball shoes but I only play once a week and hate to spend $150 on shoes for that. At the same time I roll my ankles a lot and need good supportive shoes

www.6pm.com usually has low prices, although size availability can be hit-or-miss.

Also if you're at the mall anytime soon, check out the clearance rack in Finish Line, Foot Locker, etc. because there can be some good deals lurking back there. Also if you have a Nike Outlet nearby, that's worth a look.

This. Check out their clearance section. If you play once a week and don't care about having the latest trend this is perfect. You don't know how many times I've gotten a $120 pair of shoes for $40 and under.

You can also check out Marshalls or TJ Max.

I like Marshall's too. TJMaxx never seems to have any men's shoes.

If you're looking for real running shoes, not pseudo athletic inspired sneakers, www.zbsports.com is great - get on their mailing list, they send out 10% off coupons every other month or so

I haven't gone into Marshall's to check out their shoe selection but my brother is always showing up with stuff that he got there.

Also, I agree with checking the clearance section at the sporting goods stores in the mall. Years ago, I was in need of a new pair of basketball shoes and picked these up for like $10:

sierra trading post is great. i live next to it and get their bargain barn and returns for $25 (for anything including $300/pairs of asolos) ross is really good for cheap basketball shoes. for a couple of years i was finding high end asics, new balance, and brooks that retailed at $125 and i paid $30. people started figuring it out and now they're almost impossible to find. i'm a runner, but i'd see a lot of bb shoes there too.
