    Thread: Jetta Rear Window Problem

    1. 12-08-2010 09:50 PM #1
I own a 2001 Jetta GLX. I started having problems with one of my rear windows that wouldn’t roll up unless I first rolled the entire windows down, to which it would roll all the way up automatically even if I didn’t want it to. I also noticed that manipulation of the window levers had an effect on the red security light beside the lock pin in the driver side door. The light would hold a steady glow upon rolling the window down.
There is also a tremendous drain on the battery since this started happening. If the car sits for more than 3 days it kills the battery.
Any idea what is causing it or how to fix?

A vw scan tool that plugs into the obd port. It will be able to see what switches your car is having problems with.
