Does anybody know if the small one spade sending unit used for the coolant temp is PHYSICALLY the same as the one for the oil temp gauge?

Meaning if I have an extra one in a coolant flange I pulled, can it be used as the sender for the oil gauge? Theoretically they are both thermoresistors to ground and "look" identical... just not sure if the range would be the same.

      Thanks!

I had the same question as my Caddy has both senders. They register the same on the gauge. I'd like to use one for oil temp if it is the proper resistance range.

Originally one has black insulator & one has white. Aftermarket suppliers only sell one replacement, white, for both applications.

I also think that VW supersceded to one replacement part number. I don't feel like changing my screen resolution to open up ETKA to check.
