exact same thing i am thinking, and exact same status as my g25...collecting dust. what a waste...thank god for F1 2011.

i will definitely buy some type of wheel for FM4

I was about to post Fanatec's supposed new wheel for FM4.

Since I was beaten to the punch... here's MadCatz's supposed new 360 wheel as well

      Licensed Xbox 360® Racing Wheel
Features powerful Force Feedback and Dual Vibration Motors
Being launched under the companies Mad Catz® casual gaming brand
Metal chassis provides durability and realistic appearance
Newly designed stick shift allows for left or right handed play
PC connection allows for future Firmware updates
Complete with pedal set, lap mount and desk clamp
Since I'm not confident in madcrapz to make a quality wheel... I want to know more about Fanatec's new wheel.

MS's Ushaped dildo w/buttons is blasphemy though...

After reading a little more on the data transfer, one of the staff said:

"Consider the import like a reward for those dedicated Forza 3 players, you will get gift cars added to your garage and credits (based on your career level in FM3). Plus all that time in the livery editor will not be wasted as you will be able to import your layer groups into Forza Motorsport 4."

So what Im reading here is that just the layer groups will transfer, not the complete paints for cars. Thats good news. I was thinking that the Sfront would be flooded with all the same paint jobs trying to rake in cash right off the bat. So you will still have to paint the car, just more decals to start with.

curious to find out about the gift cars too. as in, are they the Turn 10 gift cars? the gift cars from leveling up? or both?

nice 24-minute video from E3 with lots of great info. i haven't finished watching it yet, but when you level up, there is a group of cars for you choose from instead of everyone getting the same cars at the same levels. pretty cool.

I just saw the video. Has me stoked for sure! A lot of new stuff I might like, a lot that changed my stance a bit but it added way too many questions. DG says 12 cars, 16 cars and then says the most he passed was 19 cars.. how many can we race?! Subjective to track you are on?

      Road Atlanta looks improved too.

yeah the way i understood it was, that some races would have 4, 8, 12, and 16 cars, depending on the event and cars. but that Road Atlanta example was supposed to be a track day with a lot of cars, so there was an "unlimited" amount of cars to pass on the track. the standing start might of thrown that off though.

I was hesitant to buy FM4 but that video is drawing me in. Car clubs, more cars on the track and that new "matchmaking" mode all interest me.

Now I was making dinner at the time I watched the clip but I don't remember anything said about the driving model. It would be nice to hear if they've improved anything on the physics side.

I wonder what info they're not releasing now... I hope there are weather effects.

weather would be incredible, but i can settle for dynamic timing if it's going to be one or the other.

also saw some info about them teaming up with Pirelli to offer tire data to recreate more realistic physics and handling.

I just hope they have a online mode where its like a track day and you can join at any point in the session, like it starts you in the pits and you merge into traffic. I hate trying to join a game and having to wait 10 minutes to do anything.

That would be awesome but all the online retards would just crash into you. They would need to make passing through cars transparent.

iRacing has a similar idea and I like it. You can spectate a race then, if you want, jump in with an invisible car... so if you screw up there's no harm. I've used it to follow a fast driver and learn lines.

They could do that or have a system that will kick you if you have more than say 2 hard impacts with another driver.

Fanatec CSR Elite wheel in action at the E3

many info of CSR and CSR elite can be found in here...
      http://www.virtualr.net/fanatec-forz...els-announced/

      CSR Features
      - Improved force feedback electronics and mechanics make the wheel stronger and faster
      - Metal CSR shifter set and large metal paddle shifters make shifting gears easier than ever
      - Lightweight aluminum wheel rim with Alcantara inserts allow faster, more responsive turns

      CSR-Elite Features
      - Wheel base fully made of metal with carbon fiber and Alcantara wheel rim
      - DirectSensor™ technology with sensor mounted directly on the steering axis. This avoids all the interference and performance loss you get from the belt/gear drive found on traditional motor-mounted sensor systems
      - Dual force feedback motors with 120Watt (silent big fan cooling) and very low cogging force to avoid “notchy” feeling
All new products will be available later this year, Fanatec estimates a price range of 320€ for a CSR wheel & pedal combination while the elite models will go for around 700 Euros max. More detailed specs will be available later as Fanatec is still busy putting the finishing development touches on these impressive units.

from left to right: MadCatz, CSR and CSR elite (notice the different pedals)

people always complaint no good wheels for Forza (xbox360), now you have something that you can't afford!!

I had the pleasure of playing FM4 at E3 and all I can say is WOW!!!!!! It is an awesome game and the graphics are finally up to par with Gran Tursimo. Holy moly its a pretty game, and it plays GREAT!! All of you will not be disappointed that is for sure.

Here is a picture I took at E3

Lucky bastard! How was Fanatec's new CSR wheel?

And anyone know the real difference between CSR and CSR Elite? Thomas from Fanatec was quoted saying both wheels, depending on options (like what pedals, shifter, etc) would range between 320-700

edit: oops.. saw the post above evos

more info for those Fanatec wheel, pedals, clubsport shifter, handbrake... and take notice that "F1 style wheel with quick release"!!!

Regular CSR is around $320. The elite wheel is around $500. So $700 should be the elite wheel with shifter and pedals.

with these fanatec wheel, pedal, shifter, Forza 4, F1 2011... i am going to bankrupt.

something i think would be neat to incorporate into the livery editor, would be the ability to place logos/layers on side windows and the top portion of the windshield.

obviously nothing obstructive, but having a name on the rear window like a tin top would be cool, and same with windshield banners like most race cars.

also i think metallic vinyl would be great to add since it seems a lot of race cars use them.

Weather is negligible for me. I used to be all "oh wow, I can drive the ring in the snow!". Now I'm like...yeah, I realize it's possible to drive the ring in the snow...but I'd rather do it in the dry.

Whenever a game has weather (excluding F1 2010, fyi...) it seems to overuse it. It never snows in Sebring, I don't need to know what it would be like if it did. I certainly don't need to know what it would be like 1 out of ever 2 races. And especially not in the "Supercar Showdown" event where I get to choose between a Koeniggsegg CCX, a Pagani Zonda F, and a Murcialago SV. Yes, I am talking to you, PGR4.

As for wheels, I've never been impressed. However, my brother just got his Fanatech GT2 wheel on Monday. He's bringing it down this weekend. I'm anxious to try it. Floor mounted pedals like in an old 930.

x2... I only care about weather if it is a Rally game. I won't even drive my S2000 in snow and rarely in rain. Day and night driving will be good. But honestly, I rather have more real life road (example: Tail of the Dragon, Col De Turini, San Bernardino Pass..) but with some "local traffic" (use some low tier cars in the game) "driving" (not racing) around. Like the old Test Drive or Need for Speed 1.

I read that they got the sound guy from PGR4 onboard. I havent played that game but everyone seemed to like his wirk. Anyone own that game that feels that the sounds in Forza might finally get some uniqueness?

Forza sound was not that bad... still miles better than GT series.

They are bland. They were generic and just lumped v6,v8,v10,v12 sounds and spread them out. At least in Forza 2 you could hear a difference on exhaust upgrades. Neither title has really delivered in that catagory.

I loved hearing the VR snarl with VR6 equipped VWs in Forza, same with the vtec kicking in with Hondas. Not all the sounds are perfect but I think the FM sounds are a notch or two above GTs.

I agree between those two titles but I was asking if anyone has PGR4 and can confirm the sounds are more realistic. Because that guy is now working on FM4. Its a good thing apparantly. I just have never played PGR4.

I don't remember the engine noises particularly standing out on PGR4, but it's been 2 years or more since I've played it.

I thought NFS Shift 1 did a really good job of capturing engine noises from some of the exotics. The Pagani Zonda R in that game sounds closer to real life than either F3 or GT5.

As much as I can't wait for this game, I would also like to see the MKIII GTI put in the game, I would like to have my real life car in the game as well as in the driveway. I mean I know its suppose to be a racing game and the MKIII was a racer was it not? at one point? I don't know I just hope they fix the MP options and make it worth the buy.

i agree. although i drive a mk4 gti, the .:R will have to settle. i know it's a long shot but i wish you could do like... badgeless grilles, boser hoods, and actually slam the car to the ground. ..... just for picture purposes of course

LONDON — 27 June, 2011 — “Forza Motorsport 4” speeds to launch on 14 October as it pushes the racing genre forward with unmatched graphics, groundbreaking new community features, radical experiences only possible with Kinect and a landslide of cars from elite automotive brands. And while all “Forza Motorsport 4” players will enjoy this premiere automotive experience, Turn 10 announced that, starting today, fans who purchase the Limited Collector’s Edition for £59.99 ERP (available exclusively from GAME and Gamestation) will get the ultimate day-one experience with an additional 25 cars from exclusive car packs and bonus car offers. “Forza Motorsport 4” fans will also be the first in the world to get behind the wheel of the 2012 BMW M5, which was recently unveiled in “Forza Motorsport 4” at the Nürburgring 24 Hour Race in Germany.

Be among the first to take the newly announced 2012 BMW M5 for a test drive before the production car comes out in 2012 The meticulously designed 2012 BMW M5 is the most powerful production sedan ever created by BMW’s M division and will be featured on the cover of the “Forza Motorsport 4” Limited Collector’s Edition. The 2012 BMW M5 will be available as part of the “BMW M5 Fan Pack,” available starting at launch to all “Forza Motorsport 4” owners who download it from Xbox LIVE Marketplace. With the BMW M5, fans will be able to experience Autovista mode, where “Top Gear’s” Jeremy Clarkson takes fans on a virtual tour of the world’s most sought-after cars. In addition, the M5 will be added to fans’ garages and a BMW theme will be available for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

“At BMW we are thrilled to offer fans the first chance, whether it’s in game or on the road, to experience the brand new BMW M5 in ‘Forza Motorsport 4,’” said Mr. Ralf Hussmann, general manager BMW Sportmarketing & Cooperation. “‘Forza Motorsport’ players are some of the most loyal and passionate automotive fans in the world, so the choice to partner with Turn 10 Studios to feature our car in the game and on the cover of the Limited Collector’s Edition was an obvious win for BMW. We invite fans everywhere to celebrate the new M5 debut in ‘Forza Motorsport 4’ on 14 October”.

Test your design skills in the brand new “Forza Motorsport 4” BMW Design Challenge The “Forza Motorsport 4” BMW Design Challenge is inspired by the world-renowned BMW Art Car programme which began in 1975 and has featured some of the greatest artists of our time, including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney and Jeff Koons. I'll get it. I'm hoping more stores get the SKU's in their system so I can preorder it. Seems only EB/Gamestop has them in their system in Canada.

Also have to see which store offers the best bonus DLC for preordering...
