Golf R in Canada Thread

I'm surprised there are still that many not delivered yet!

it would be interesting to start a registry type thread to see where all the r's are in canada. I know not everyone is on vortex but I would think a majority are maybe....being an enthusiast car and all.

I personally saw 3 vehicles at 3 dealerships I passed this week that were available. I asked at each as I was curious.

Questions remain! should not all R's be already sold except for a few that had financing problems or just decided they didnt want the car so i dont think that would be very many ...plus any i see or hear of around sell within 1-2 days here in B.C., mine came as like a month ago" second choice blue,, bahhh i ordered Red", so my dealer and VWC are doing some magic and somehow doing a swap out of province for a T RED R i wanted and was told it was one of the last R's being delivered, it will be here in a week, so all should almost have homes within a week....just thinking of those poor lil R's without homes makes me want another one !!JK dont have the first 1 yet ...they might be like kids !!more hassle than they're worth !! again JK Jaydogg

Just received an email from VW Canada thanking me for signing up on their website and informing me the Golf R has now arrived and is available in limited quantities

I picked up my R two weeks ago. If I solely rely on the info from VW Canada, I will never get my R.

For local Toronto area R owners that would like to come out tomorrow morning for a breakfast meet there are a few of us meeting in Brampton. Venue is Giggling Tomatoes at Airport and Steeles time is 9:00 am for a couple of hours. Come out and meet, make new freinds fill your belly with bacon and eggs code your tails, (there should be someone there with a laptop and a cable) the choice is yours. Hope to see you there.

Unfortunately you can't program it to open the windows AND sunroof with fob. You can only close the sun roof using it. I was hoping opening would be an option for the hot summer days walking up to the car, but windows only still gets the job done.

Just got delivery of my new red Golf R last week and notice that only the drivers side seat belt buckle has the rubber sheaf around the cable that secures the buckle to the frame. Doesn't quite seem right but VW seems to have shipped the last bunch of R's and GTI's this way. Dealer check into it and VW had limited reply.
Anyone have any insight and how was your R shipped.

Same here, I noticed that on my 2rd day of ownership, weird indeed. I'll bring this up with my dealer next week, let us know what you find out too!

Hey guys I picked mine up last last week. I was going to pre order but decided not to last year. I just looked on kijiji and auto trader 2 weeks ago and there were a few for sale in Ontario. I got mine in Newmarket without a pre order guess I got lucky

I dropped off my car to the dealer this morning because this weekend I was hearing a loud gridding noise from the right side of the car. Sounded like a piece of tin gridding. I hope all it is a rock stuck between the rotor and the metal guard. The sounds not always there and it seems to only happen when the wheels are turned slightly to the right. Very weird. Of course while I was driving it to the dealer it didn't do it.

I couldn't live with a flat colour. They smudge if you give them an aggressive glance.

CSG is perfect. Even with a coating of dust you can't tell it's dirty unless someone rubs against it.
