Upgraded to a BMW so am parting with my red/black ’99 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition (very desirable). 5-speed manual with just a tick under 133,000 miles. I have all of the documentation since new, including original window sticker for $17,690 from South Shore Auto Imports in Pembroke, MA on 8/8/98. I am the second owner (not counting the dealer whom I bought it from). Title in hand, docs from recent new tires, battery, rotors, brakes, etc.

Features of car: In dash cassette player with 6-disc CD changer in trunk, sport alloy wheels, spoiler, power locks/central locking, tinted rear lenses, AC, sunroof, sport seats. Interior is very clean. Even though this car has very low miles for a VW engine, let me be clear that this is not a garage queen. The car is OVERALL IS IN FAIR CONDITION.

EXTERIOR: Based on NADA car guide, cosmetically, the car is in FAIR TO GOOD condition: It just received a full detail so the paint looks great and shines bright with a deep red luster. Like many VWs with sunroofs and rocker panels, it has some rust. There is some body rot under the drivers footwell, and along the passenger side underbody near the rocker panel. There are a few rust spots along the doors, as well as your common scratches, a few small dents, etc, on a car that is 12 years old.

INTERIOR: GOOD CONDITION. Very clean with just a few wear spots on the driver and passenger front seats. Rear power window motors are shot right now, so windows are stuck in the up position. SUNROOF, FRONT POWER WINDOWS, POWER LOCKS, ETC WORK WELL.

TIRES: Newer, with rear passenger <200 miles (tons of tread on all four with good spare—see pics)

ENGINE: FAIR CONDITION. The car is being sold at this price because it needs a tune-up and an inspection sticker, as reflected in price. In very heavy rain, because the cap/rotor, plugs, and possibly ignition coil/wiring are needing replacement, the car will stall. AS stated above, needs alternator too.

History of my ownership, not including oil changes, other minor things:

02/05 Purchased vehicle (title states 70, 562 miles) with clean CARFAX report

05/06 Maintenance (brakes, exhaust, oil, etc) $455

11/06 New front tires $145.67

10/07 New Energizer battery and New rear tires $151.16 + ~$80 battery

1/09 Maintenance (exhaust, oil, filter, ) $234.55

9/09 New rear brake calipers, rotors, pads, fluid $719.74

06/10 New passenger rear tire $92.67

Please note, car needs alternator and is not running. I was driving it, battery light came on, speedometer and tachometer went to zero, clock light went out, then car slowly died. Probably needs about $500 of routine maintenance+ inspection sticker + alternator replaced to get back to normal running.
