Not totally the same shaved we are all thinking though.
Short story long. I had a beard for about 3 years, my wife hated it. There was a commercial on the super bowl about husbands doing things for their wives all so they can drive the car they want. I think it was a dodge commercial.
When we left the super bowl party she asked if I saw the commercial. I did and she had a proposition for me. If I shaved I could get a rabbit pickup and not get rid of another car.
The next morning I was clean shaving and two weeks later I had found a pickup.
So 9 months later I am still shaving and finally getting around to working on the project.
I made a 11 hour round trip to VA by myself in the rain to get it. I brought it home and tucked it away in my in-laws barn until I could start working on it.
The drive home March '10:
Tucked away in the barn where it has been sitting for 9 months. Going to yank it out in the next week or two.
I have found that the best way to do this is in the freezing cold YEP super cold temp or the coldest temps in your state & a flat screw driver, putty knife & or paint scraper.
Tried the heat gun route & it sucked & was f n messy. ( why reactivate the glue  )
Sorting through the box of random parts to see what I don't have to buy.
Have some seals, but not all. Have some interior parts, but not all. Have some of the glass, but not all (just need a windshield). Have all the wiring, but doesn't entirely match with the dash or motor I am running. To be expected and should be tons of fun. I need to keep myself organized so I don't go nuts.
I can just not turn my heater on right away. I am going to pick up some dry ice tomorrow though. And they sell it in pellets so it should work great for spreading out on the floor.
Dev this is awesome bro I want to start a project now even thou I really need to finish the mulberry first lol matter of fact get started .... Where's the bike and polo at
Dev it's pretty sad that your going to have your caddy done before Cory has his done. ...lol I'm pumped to see whats going to come out of that garage Btw what are you doing with that cream man/valve cover are you going to do a vr swap in the cabby
I hope I can have it done before Cory's. Not racing, I just hope my project doesn't drag out as long.
The manifolds/valve cover were on my passat wagon. They are for sale. I started to cut into the bottom of the manifold to do a 2.9 clone though. Never finished it.
Dry ice worked excellent. Only took about an hour to do the entire floor. Then decided to start stripping the inner fenders. That didn't take nearly as long as I though either.
So far this truly is a rust free caddy. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The other thing with the dry ice is to get the pellets. Nice even coverage. And 10lbs seemed to be the perfect amount.
There are pictures of the beard on the first page. It's not like I grew it out for 3 years. I kept it trimmed. Trust me, I would be cool with growing it out. I think I would have to sleep in the bed of the truck in the garage though.
I have seen that thread. It seems like the devil's snot need to be kinda warm for that to work. Right now my snot is very hard and I don't think it will stretch much.
Yeah, it is a Westy. I kinda wish it still had the US front end, but a PO had already switched it to rounds. I am not going to create more work for myself either. I like rounds too.
Yeah, I am noticing more around. Not many though. Good old PA salty roads.
Nice mk6 by the way. Would love to do a few things to my wagon when it isn't dealing with the battle of a rt83 commute and city door dings.
There are a couple little things I am not crazy about, but he did lower the price from the quote, so I can live with it.
