The show on Sunset is the day after. It's a really cool show, I don't see what the confusion is. Lock this thread up too.

kano, it IS on the 29th, same day as the SFLGTG.

It's 3 days, Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. And it's all for charity.

I think the gtg got a little too big for it's own britches with six to seven hundred cars. There was so much liability and too much cash had to be put out of pocket just get it off the ground they so needed sponsors.

Now I believe they're getting back to a smaller scale event. Daytona would be awesome though, maybe next year for me. As far as Volksblast the only thing you're missing is the Conga Cruise if you go the the gtg on Saturday. The highlight of Volksblast, for me, is really the show on Sunday near Sunset Place. That's a "don't miss" show. Hope to see everybody at least one of the two days.

edit: If I had a an aircooled P car with which to participate, I might be partial to the Conga Cruise as well though.

Yeah it was to big. But theres less then 100 people signed up for it now. And you fully well know south florida vw people half the time do not come through with what they say they are going to do.

After spending time with the air cooled people last week there so much better. There was no bitchness to other people, everyone talked to everyone, it was all about fun and finally they loved your car no matter what. Non of this may car is stanced better then yours bull****. Or ooo im on air ride im way better then you go away. Oooo your friends with then well sorry we cant talk.

Alright, so Capucine (my Wife) found a new penny auction website that is totally free, you get bids by logging in daily and posting (free) ads on their (free) classifieds website (similar to Craigslist). She already won an 8gb iPod touch !

First go to www.freezula.com/registration.php?ref=447 and register, it's free, once you have registered there, go to www.freezulalocal.com and register on that website too, it's free also, and it gives you 100 free bids to start on freezula.

Then you simply need to log in every day and that will give you 25 free bids, then every day that you post on ad on the classifieds website, you get 50 free bids. Basically do that for a few days to accumulate a lot of bids and then start bidding. Not sure if the bids will be free forever but they are now.

Also, every time you refer someone that registers you get 100 free bids (why do you think I am posting this lol). So yeah, get your free bids and win some cool stuff for free. Remember to register using the link I posted above so we get the referral, and then post here when you have registered so I can make sure they give us our free bids Thanks

    In short:

It's FREE, you just need to register on two websites for FREE, you DO NOT enter any credit card information
    Go to:
    www.freezula.com/registration.php?ref=447 and register for free
    Then go to:
www.freezulalocal.com and register on that website too, it's free also, and it gives you 100 free bids to start on freezula.

Once you register let me know so I can make sure I got credited my referral bids

    Good point.

But, that just means there's less than 100 people that know the thread exist.

in retrospect, none of the previous events ever had a sign-up of over 100 people... but somehow over 600 cars showed up.

granted, we probably won't be seeing that this time around.

but it'll still be a good time to get to know some other enthusiasts that share your interest, and put in the effort to get over your differences.... if only for four hours.

AND you'll get to donate to a charity.... because the event is still free and you've certainly got some loose change in your cupholder.

but then, nobody has to go, either. that's the great part about it.
shut your mouth. sh sh shut your mouth.

Tonight i decided to take my fat ass to the Gym after work. I went to the LA Fitness in the North east plaza at University and Oakland Park Blvd. I pulled up as two guys where leaving in cool slammed cars. One was driving a Black MK 4 Jetta slammed on staggered Porsche boxer wheel that were painted a brilliant white. The other guy was driving a 4 door Dc2 integra on what looked like widened steelies. I shouted to the VW guy, he says his jetta is a vr6. He had stickers lined up the left side of the back window like on the factlace or hellaflush cars.

Any body know who this is? I hope he comes to SFLGTG 17 so I can get a better look at the MK 4 LOL!

I live like 5mins from there. Never seen it before....
lol. Nah just kidding. But there are A LOT of dubbers around that aren't on vortex. Met a mk5 r32 a month ago that had no clue what vortex was but he had a nice ride and tastefully modded. I invited him to the SFlGTG still.

lol well I figured I'll post it on here since it's free and you actually win stuff They are still in their soft launch which is great because not as many people bidding, it would be nice if you could buy bids to bid more but right now you're limited to the free bids ..... so if anyone wants to be nice and register for us to get more free bids that would be awesome, you don't even have to bid if you don't want, as long as you register we get the bids Come on ... help us out now

Hey guys I removed all the goodies from my Fahrenheit GTI. Please pass the word if you know of anyone looking for clean 2.0T FSI performance parts at a great price. Love to throw the whole lot to someone in a sweet deal. I could bring the parts to the SFGTG, if that was convenient for a buyer.
    Thanks & Aloha, Jeff

Also went to an AutoX event this past weekend with Kano. We had a good time he posted up some quick times I unfortunately couldn't participate but it was nice to watch and took a sit-in on the track in a 996 GT3. Anyway they are having another event on Feb 12th that's an official SCCA event and another that's just an autocross event in March. Check my sig for more info. PM me with any questions. See you guys at the meet and the GTG.

    Look at the front plate.

Is anyone thinking about buying the R20 when it comes out? I've been thinking about moving on to something else since I started to DD the R32 more. There are just a lot of quality issues about it , interior & exterior, that are starting to annoy me for such a low mileage car. Putting a turbo on it would make it faster, but that wouldn't stop the other issues from happening. I was thinking that the R plus the $10,000 or so it will cost to do the turbo could be put towards a new car. VF still owes me $3,000+ for the STG III kit that I bought, so there's some more cash coming back when I ship the kit back to them. I've got months to think about this anyway.

The R20 is nice and all but I got my GTI which handles great even though it's FWD, but I can't justify spending an extra 10-15k on what I paid for the GTI for the stuff that comes on the .:R that I don't want (i.e. leather seats). The other big one is that it still has the FSI engine which proved to be problematic although VW and other Vendors have claimed that they have fixed those issues such as the cam-follower and the PCV system. I just think that the TSI engine has so much more potential, no problematic issues and it's chain-driven not belt. So for now I'm sticking with my GTI and enjoying it until something really surprises me about the .:R I will not make the switch just not worth it IMO.

Your right b/c it's been out for a lil bit and I've done my research and it's still like ehh. Although I may be up for an AWD conversion of the GTI later in it's life with the drivetrain I want (TSI). That was more or less the reason that drew me away but to some people it may not bother them but for the money I'd get something else but that's just me. If there was a used one for cheap money I may be tempted but everyone knows the resale value of these cars it's freaking ridiculous. For a DD I think the TDi is where it's at now that it doesn't smell and cloud everywhere and everyone behind you with soot. :cough: :cough: Kano, lol

    hehe!
    You like my soot...

and yes a TDi would be awesome. That's why i would may be lease the mk6 R. Then again a test drive at the dealer or a local owner may suffice my needs.

No more FWD for me in any "performance" cars. I still have a Passat to drive when necessary. The M Roadster has spoiled me with the positive attributes of RWD & a short wheelbase. The only other AWD option I would consider is an Audi, & RWD would be another one of the many M series available.
