Harold:
i was on louisvilevw.org few weeks ago saw this rabbit for 125$ and me being me. i got to thinking..... my thoughts were like, man i really do hate this mint 1992 passat thats in complete full working order that i only scored for 500$ and it only had 88,429 miles on it. so after i called the guy up about the rabbit. found out that it was a former diesel. its all there just no engine, no left fender, no front gille lights etc. so the 27th of December comes along and i drive down south to Scipio Indiana where i think i'm buying a rabbit thats going to be beat to hell and back. i get there its not too bad i mean it needs a fender and an engine. but i was happy to see that it wasn't to rusty. the floor boards are ok. not perfect. but not horrible. but the interior is clean. really nice tan carpet and dash. no cracks. so my achievements on this one. saving a rabbit that could have just rotted in a field with a bunch of other volkswagens
but my plan on this one is to swap a full 2.0 16v with 88.429 miles on it. running the whole CE2 box with it. and thats about it.
what i have all done now is the whole wiring set up for it to run CE2. got it all hooked up with no problems. as of now i await for a transmission and a clutch assembly.
more pics to come when my friend comes over with his nikon
in these picture the car i got was the one with out the fender by the red Mk2!
and these pictures were taken by the previous owner. at the moment i don't have a camera.

still no pics. but got a few things done today. took the dash out. and scrubbed all the mold offit looks mint now. man i love clean tan interiors <3
and then i also mounted my CE2 fuseblock right inf ront of the mk1 fuseblock you can't even tell there is two there. looks super mint. i also got B3 front seats in as well.
but i still await a clutch set up and engine setup as well. after i get all that and engine in the car. the last things i need are:
fuel pump.
100mm axles. then she should be on the road... i'm excited. shouldn't be too long.
i need to get a camera and i would get some nice pics up. just waiting on a friend to swoop on by with his badass nikon.

My build will take a long time, on a super tight budget. To be honest, I'll be wiring as little as possible. I'm going to use carbs and am shooting for 200 whp. The other problem is this is my daily driver.. When I get a beater and actually start my build, I'll link you to it hah I'll he watching yours and learning much! Make sure to post a ton of pictures![]()

or forsure.... thats how mine is. i honestly haven't spent any money yet on this build. the only money i have spent were on the two cars i have bought. which is only 625$ but i have everything for my swap needed in my passat. except transmission and fuel pump. thats only where i'll be spending money at. is those two items!ill get pics of my wire up and all i have done so far. just waiting on a camera! but mine is coming along perfectly!

i need a fender.
but from looking at the car. you can tell it has been repainted like a flat white color. doesn't look bad. but whoever did it couldn't paint. there are a few runs...
don't you love my fender hole.... its staying there!
got the passat seats in they are nice fitting. move back in forth in no problem...
engine that im using. i haven't really even cleaned it up. it came out of the passat this way..
and i have myself a little cool disel sticker

whats the best way you guys push in your gas shocks for the bumpers in?
donald + Mk1 Rabbit = happy
#18
Drill the shock to let the pressure off and kick them in. Thats what I did on a set.
Was pretty easy to press them in.
Some people say drive into a wall, slowly. Ive no idea why anyone would do that.

200whp...not going to happen, sorry man. Not on NA.

our rally car puts out 203 at the wheels, NA.
it's also 14:1 compression, blueprinted and balanced, and has a head job that cost as much as a small country.

If you've got to do it, go for it. You may notice a distinct lack of threads about 200whp NA 16vs, and I have to say it's not because you're the first to think of it...it's because it's generally unrealistic to actually build one for anything other than track racing or pipe dreaming.

LOL! i think my 2.0 has 134 HP stock, and thats not even to the wheels! but hey 134 HP engine in a rabbit. still peppy. and thats all i want!

you need an ABA bottom end. don't use a 9A.
you can find a block for 50$ if you're shooting for200 whp you'll need new crank rods and pistons anyway.

got some cleaning done on it today! and fixed the windows.
and i remounted the bubble coolant tank so my strut brace fits.![]()
