Hi all, I have a big hole i my catalytic converter and the car sounds like it is missing a muffler
Does anyone could guide me to where i should go to have that hole welded as i do not see myself spending ~700 to get a new one for Passat 2003.
      Thank You in advance.

      Jakers!

Might be easier to get a new cat and remove old on and have someone weld it on. Might help out in the future too. If the cat is already having holes in it, what says there wont be another one in the future.

You'll have to get a new flex joint. I got a Cat + Flex joint done for $350 at Yankee Muffler in Bridgeport, CT. Best place ever.

it might since u will be on the gas more and your check engine light will be on unless you get a tune (apr, revo, giac, unitronic, etc) with a catless file

Was that $350 + tax or just plain $350 everything included?

when i was going to install mine i found that the bolts that connect the cat & stock downpipe were so rusted that they stripped. so i waited til i got the rest of my exhaust to put it. 10000000000000 times easier but still kinda a pain in the ass

Dang, I cant find an exhaust system for my 2.8 I was thinking about just taking to restrictor off and putting a glass pack or something. But then I have to 2 cats and flex pipe in there. I took the muffler off and replace it with an aftermarket muffler.

Unless you live in a state like CA and several others, where they do a visual inspection of pollution control items. Then you can't drive on public roads until you put the CAT back.

BTW, test pipes are illegal in all 50 states, even f you don't usually get caught.
