So I just bought this salvaged Passat with the 1.8t. It runs fine and strong, however, when I first start it in the morning after a cold winter night, it makes this pretty loud whining/grinding/squeaky kind of noise from the engine. Its not up by the fan belts or anything and it goes away after about 10 minutes of warm up.... It doesn't affect any performance or anything just sounds awful... I do have several codes including P0441 which is the EVAP emission control sys: Incorrect Flow. However these were there when I bought the car and not sure if that would have an effect on it at all? I'm fixing things slowly but surely but want to make sure I'm not hurting anything...Any comments would be great!
