As for minor updates. My sister sent me these from Germany:

    Keychain:

    Suede Hat:

    Suede R32 hat

    The rear clip:

    The Inside VW emblem:

Sometime this week I will be purchasing the homelink garage door opener. horribleR posted the link if you want one, thank you sir. I will repeat said link here for you guys

I will also be purchasing the OEM iPod integration for the monsoon radio. So that will be a very nice add on.

So my next major update will have a full write up of the installation of both (with pics), and my review.

    Entry #002

A LOT of stuff came in from ECS Tuning a couple of days ago, and today, with a little motivation I installed the first item: OEM iPod Integration

    Kit contents:

So the install was much easier than I had anticipated, everything went smoothly until I attempted removing the glove box. I didn't realize it was somehow connected to the center console. I assumed it was just a stubborn clip and I ended up cracking some plastic on the upside its in a place you can't see, and it seems that the glove-box is still held securely in place.

    Picture of cracked plastic:

    5570189864_d6f0175edc_z

As I said, other than that the install went very smoothly.

I connected my iPhone 4, which doesn't charge but it plays music which was the main goal, so I'm happy.

Pic of phone not charging and playing music:

Then I connected my iPod classic, that charges and plays music

So I think I'm just going to keep that stowed away in my glove box, much easier than having to plugin/unplug my phone every time I enter/exit the car.

I haven't gotten much time to play around with it so I can't really say much, but it works.

I can say one thing. The sound quality is eleventy billion times better than the stupid cassette garbage.

Here's some pics of after the install:

    Thanks guys!

I talked to the dealership today and they are going to call a rep out to take a look at my bumper ripples, to see if I can get them repaired through Volkswagen!

Right now I have to worry about buying a new aristo and getting different tires, cause the ones I wanted are back-ordered more than 4 weeks

I must make it to WitW next year. It looks like too much fun!! I would have gone this year, but 19 inch bbs's on stretched tires wouldn't have held up very well ... Next year I will have a more appropriate wheel/tire setup for this kind of event

Yeah, on my way home from WitW.11 I managed to hit Ohio's deepest pothole

So now I need a new Aristo. I'll post pics when I get home.

    Entry #005

So as most of you know, my wheel got bent after hitting an unavoidable pot-hole in the wonderful state of Ohio.

Results were less than pleasing, my drivers-side front wheel got bent, big time. I'll see if I can find some pictures.

Anyway $371 and one week later I finally have my brand new Aristo from Volkswagen. Its shiny

Anyway I had one of my friends over (8008135 on tex) and she helped me take off all the wheels, wash them, and load them in the car

So we made it to BelleTire and the ****ers are closed.

So now I need to wait till tomorrow morning to bring the tires in.

Car is parked in the garage for now. It needs a lot of love before it can get back on the road.

so Goals before it goes into storage July 10th.

-Brakes they are completely shot after attempting to keep up with SKNKWRX
-Full interior and exterior detail, this will be happening pretty soon.
-Headlight alignment (currently aimed way to low, night-time driving is almost scary
-Wheel alignment (cause belletire doesn't know what they are doing)

So lets see when that gets done. Its gunna take some cash I currently dont have

So we have the weekend when I come back, when we are move into our apartments for summer term, to try and get some initial photos?

This seems like it will not be enough time to get all the photos I would like, in all the locations you are finding.
Doesn't mean that I can't try to get at least 300 shots in for each day/night.

No, I am working to make some more money. I am planning to work my final 8 hours on Thursday (July 7th) and then complete the trek home by around midnight the same day. I will probably be able to hang out friday night before moving day on the 9th.
I was planning on moving my stuff in on the 9th, but then going back at home for the rest of the weekend until later on Sunday, if possible. Then class starts the 11th
At least, this is my plan for right now. I would have liked to work on the fourth and be coming back my Thursday afternoon instead of midnight, but I feel like $550+ is worth the loss of four days and will put me closer to my financial goals/buying my first car.

We will have time to chill at school.

    Update:

Hey guys, I just did my haldex oil and filter change. Everything went smoothly.

Big thanks to .:1of1500:.'s thread for helping me out.

I did however run into a problem when attempting to change my rear-differential fluid.

I couldn't get the fill plug out. It was getting to a point where I thought I would snap the bolt off.

I tried hitting it with some PB blaster, but that didn't help either. Any suggestions?

the fill plug for the rear diff is a 17mm hex plug, not something I would call a bolt. are you sure you're trying the right plug?

Haha, sorry I'm not good at describing parts.

I'm definteley looking at the right plug.

If it makes any difference, its the fill plug I'm having trouble getting out, I have not attempted to take out the drain plug yet. Any ideas?
