Anyone using a good dyno app for Android
sent from my Droid Incredible

im using dynomaster i think it was a couple bucks and it has a cool feature where its starts the virtual dyno upon movement of the car, it uses gps and gives you approximate hp and torque figures, its seems to be alright i suppose, also times 1/8, 1/4 and 0-60 times
I wondered if anyone had been using other apps

We could tell since you have an android. JUST KIDDING! But I think everyone is a little cheap these days. I know I sure am!

Check the market that's the only one I've used so far

i use a FREE one called aDyno. from what ive read it seems be accurate within 5% or so, which is good enough for me. A lot of it has to do with how well you calibrate it and how accurate your specs are (weight, drivetrain loss, etc)

i use Torque on my car.
i picked up a BT OBD2 reader that lives in the car.
this app has all kinds of other realtime readouts too as well as a dyno feature.
there's a free (lite) version and a pay version.
it's the best one i've found so far, and i've tried a ton of them.

you need an ELM327 for it to work properly.
this is the one i got from deal extreme for about $50.
basically plugged it into the car the day it came in, and it hasn't left the OBD2 port since.
anytime i wanna check something out, i just load up torque and there it is.
also, don't use the software that comes with the BT dongle; it's garbage and you don't need it.

Thanks. Looks like the one I'll get.
There is a reader on E-Bay Motors for $16 + $15 shipping that claims to be ELM 327 although it looks nothing like the Deal Extreme reader. Probably a poorly done Chinese knock-off.

Maybe someone can help me out.
I have torque for my incredible.
It functions fine as an obd2 scanner. i can read and clear codes as well as email them to myself.
But if I do something like acceleration graphs and try to send them to myself it wont send the email. It says something like "wrong account"
whats going on?
Also I have the pay version.

sounds like you need to email the developer.
there's no reason why it would email other info but not that unless maybe something's wrong with the program itself.
they're generally very good about responding regarding their application; at least that's been my experience in the past.

Any word on whether or not these cheap 20 dollars Chinese made ones on eBay work well. Has anyone tried one?

I got a bt device from amazon last week and it did not function at all. Some people have said the cheaper models work just fine, but I guess that's all subjective. I broke it open out of curiosity and found the soldered pins where broken. I ordered an OBDlink that day for 150 but it works and I can install the program on my laptop. From what I gather, the more expensive bt obd senders operate with a faster signal then the cheaper units. Pay for what you get I suppose. I bought torque and love it!

real cheap, and works real good.

Can you confirm this works on a 2006 Jetta? To be specific I have a GLI.
