Just got this back from being wrapped. It was a full white hull. I think it turned out great, paint was more than I was willing to take on.
Just gotta put tabs on it now and fix the sounder.

How much does wrapping a boat that size cost? Humm...ideas coming to mind for a couple of older boats I have...i thought paint was the only real way to go and a GOOD sprayed paint job is WAY out of my budget for these boats...

I think when I got paint quoted it was something over 4 grand for a guy I know does good work, which was way more than I wanted to pay.
Luckily we have a a family friend that does vinyl. I got the best quality stuff he had, the MC numbers, the stripe, and the name for $1900.
He said it would usually be around $2500. This was with the highest quality vinyl, and the extras. The boat is a 24' just to give you an idea. If you went with a cheaper vinyl and skipped the numbers and such it'd be around $1800 I imagine.
edit: if you are ballsy you can watch some tutorials online and order the stuff to do it yourself. I think materials for a similar size boat would be around $900. This boat required a pretty big size 60" I think to be able to fit on the flair of the bow. Normal boats you could get away with less width which would be cheaper. Honestly I don't think it'd be that hard. I would have tried it if I didn't know someone who does it for a living.

Humm...I've always wanted the hull on the Hatteras to be dark blue...wonder what it would cost to do a 53'er?![]()

I doubt that it's possible given the heigth of the hull. If you want it blue you are probably going to have to go imron and it's not going to be cheap.
DIY is possible, but materials alone are going to be a couple grand. From what I've read the proess won't be fun. Good luck![]()

here's a recent one of mine i've been whoring out lately. a bit dirty along the lower edge because it sits in stained water from Memorial weekend until late October. but when the boat comes out i take 3-4 days to clean the stain off and it looks brand new. i couldnt live with myself if it sat on the trailer each winter with a green stain on the hull
and a video for fun:

Our family recently had to put down our dog beagle after she got cancer. I used a photo of her and made this with my vinyl machine to make this name for the center console.
We finally got it in the water today and tested out the new tabs and sounder. They both work great. What a huge difference trim tabs make on a boat this size at speed. The reaction is instant, I was leaning it over pretty deep with all the weight in the center.
The water level is way down right now and our area of the Clinton River looks terrible. I can't even launch the waverunner off our floating dock right now due to growth.

Not my boat, but I am crewing on her this weekend! It's the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race and I am docking committee. I get run out to the boats on a dingy at the finish and bring them in to the docks.

Just picked this up for a winter project. Its a '73 Glastron Carlson CV-16SS with the Volvo AQ130/270 combo with 2 years on a rebuild w/ receipts. Gelcoat needs a good wet sand and buff, a little interior work and cleanup, and it will be ready for the summer.

I also have a MX-Ray.
Both of which are for sale.

Split with my father, who now lives in SC and comes up this way once in a blue moon. Probably going up for sale in the spring for something half the size. I want to enjoy boating a little more and being that I'm the one responsible for everything and everyone (My friends don't know the first thing about boating) this thing's just a little much. For the record, we got the boat used and did not come up with the douchey "liquid asset" name. Never changed it though. Too superstitious for that *shudders*
Also have this little guy for tubing and whatnot. It's not the turbo, but it gets the job done and has been VERY reliable after lots of hard use.
Geoff that little sailboat is STUNNING. I've never heard of them or seen them until this thread. Too bad I'm landlocked or I would be spending my time looking for one.
