Thanks. The cars in the pics are pretty "normal" for around the shop. We usually get some pretty odd stuff .![]()

60 Corvette that was in progress in previous pics. The goal of the project was to fix all the cracks from previous repair. It looked like the fender shattered at one point and was pieced back together and some areas sagged.
Cars in the body shop now: 1957 Ford Thunderbird, 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC, 1955 Austin Healey 100/4, 1953 Jaguar XK 120, 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass. All complete paint jobs.![]()

Spent the weekend wetsanding and buffing the Ferrari 330. Porsche with widened quarters behind it.
#19
1969 Ferrari 330 GTC all put together and off the car show.

The Porsche with the widened rear 1/4's freshly painted with some new stripes. It still needs to be sanded and buffed.

Outside after being sanded and buffed. Hopefully I can get some pictures of it on the track this weekend at Watkins Glen.

Great pictures man keep posting them. Question for you, when you do collision work or anything other then full respray on older stuff, do you base/clear it or will you replicate the factory finish. Like are you guys still spraying lacquers and stuff like that? I always wondered how shops like yours dealt with that. Seeing your pictures makes me with I did something more fun then spraying single stage cement mixers all day haha
#24
We primarily spray Glasurit 22 line (single stage urethane) and Glasurit 55 line (basecoat). It's pretty rare that we spray something else. You can usually buff the surrounding panels or the entire car so it has the same gloss level as the new paint.

Put some CS stripes on this 360 CS today.
Thats a 250 GT Lusso on the frame machine under the plastic cover in the background. It was hit in the rear by a drunk driver in a dump truck.![]()

When you guys pull old or rare stuff on the frame machine where do you get your specs from? Like if both front rails are smashed in so you can't get any comparative measurements and there is nothing on file, do you just wing it? Having only worked in dealer shops doing modern stuff this is some interesting stuff, thanks for answering my last question about the paint.
#29
I don't think we've had a car that has been hit like that come through since I've been at the shop. We don't get to many jobs that require serious pulling. If that was the case though, we would probably try to find another car to do some measurements off of. If we couldn't find something to measure off of, you pull it until you have to. If its square, looks correct, panels and parts fit, you really don't have go any further than that.

A helmet I just painted based of Nigel Mansell's helmet. All the colors have metallic or pearls in them.

Did another helmet recently:
It still needs the final sand and another couple coats of clear.
