    Taylor=Goodhews?

And since he sold the design to 034...I'm guessing he can't really sell them anymore?

Finally got my frankenstein-roof rack set up the way I want it.

-Allroad/A6 factory cross bars trimmed down on the ends
-Yakima raptor bike attachments trimmed so the trays can slide
-All the stupid yakima wingnuts replaced with actual nuts

My bmx, fixie, and 29er all fit with their wheels on. Hatch still opens, nothing in the way of the sun roof, still uses the oem audi locks on the cross bars. Even without a fairing this set up has way less wind noise than any rack I've had that had yakima bars and a fairing. It's super stable and looks pretty oem+

    Drop it like it's hott.

    Fitment.
all 4-17x10...Back spacing is 7"..5x120. No et is given on the barrel. Interwebs says "around +38"
    Rears should be fine. Fronts?

did you determine your coolant leak? I recently picked up a 98 a4 avant 2.8 with a similiar leak. It doesnt appear too bad, just wondering if your solution could be simililar to fix mine

I think the wheels look good in that color, but you will need to be lower to pull them off.

Favorite thing to do on a bike next to rails! I'm working on a solo edit right now, might post that up here when it's done.

Yeah, it was the oring on the head coolant flange. Guessing since you have a 2.8 it might be different. I don't know much about 2.8's to be honest. I used to live in Spencer and Jefferson Iowa. Winter there sucks

You're telling me I'm working on it. Just sold the merc wheels. Thought about going the vmaxx route..but I'm not going to cheap out on coilovers. On a side note..we're supposed to get 6-12 inches tonight. Time to go enjoy my 4x4 status and studded snows.

Is anyone running 17x10 up front?? If so how low of an et? Pulling fenders? I found something locally that is stupid rare that I want soooo bad but idk if it'll fit.

I'm sure you can make a 10 work. All about the correct offset and tires. If they have a high offset then you can always mock them up and figure stuff out.

MarcMillers thread has good info on 10" wheels...consensus not going to work without fender work to front fenders.

Just went thru that. Its awful tempting to pull my front fenders since they need resprayed anyways. But having front fenders pulled pretty much means I have to do the rears to match. What's the going price on having 4 panels repsayed? =/ yikes.

Also.. totally plowed into 30 inches of powder in the parking lot at my work today while getting my Starbucks on. Coworkers were stoked hahah

I actually have a commuter style frame prototype we're working on with some bmx/mtb parts on it. It's called Bamf. I work for them and a larger sister company called Tommaso. It's pretty rad

Talked to a claim adjuster. She said just from the description and age of the car it's likely totaled. I want to do a buy back, but I may have trouble having a title/insurance in Colorado on a car that's been totaled. I'll find out specifics tomorrow. And I may actually have that socket from my broken headlight.. I'll check..

Edit- found it..in pieces. You don't want it.

Drove my parents mk5 tdi on vacation last week. I love that thing. Makes me want to do a diesel swap.

Car is totaled. They gave me a buy back number I couldn't refuse. Big changes in the near future. Cactus avant can't die! I'm stoked.

Whats the interchangeability of core supports in b5s? 2.8s and 1.8s vary at all? Facelift and pre facelift vary at all?

Cant believe they totaled that, damage dpesnt look too bad unless it bent the frame rail. Good luck on the rebuild.

Yeah, I was a little surprised too. The only structural damage was the core support broke at the top.

Hopefully picking up most of parts to fix it tmrw.

    Blah.

SO. I can't find a core support locally to save my life. What will I have to do to make a 2.8 or prefacelift core support work? Or is that just a no go?

I found a volcano black fender. After I put it on I sort of wish the whole car was that color. I actually hate green, but cactus green is as good as it gets.

Had no clue about that. I'll give them a ring and see if they have some things. Hopefully I can find a unmolested b5.
