Second time around I used "Kylon stained glass color" It's basically transparent spraypaint. Many large chain hardware stores have it. I ordered mine from acehardware.com. Restoring your headlights beforehand makes a huge difference. Once you've sprayed them, wetsand 1000-2000 and polish them with a plastic specific wax and it turns out good.
Awesome thanks, i got an ace hardware store right next by so i'll give it a shot. thanks!

I just got a phone call from discount tires direct that my tire order was cancelled because the index rating for the tire "didn't support my vehicles weight" Tried doing some convincing over the phone "I really want your business sir, but it's company policy that blah blah blah yada yada"......"Alright. Fine. Just cancel my order......."

10 minutes later... reorder the tires. oh why yes! these 215/35r19's are for my 86 vw jetta, with a curb weight of 1973lbs.... I guess they're just trying to cover their asses against lawsuits from blow outs and whatnot? I should send them a picture of it mounted on a 10" wheel and see if they reply

I think it's a little more understandable for a shop to do that. I've got a friend that will do it after hours for cash. score

But when a online business won't even let me order tires when I told them what model of car it's going on?! Come on now. That's a bit much.

I built myself an aluminum skid plate out of a large decommissioned construction sign. It was a rather large sign so I cut it in half and doubled it up. It's probably .08 thick, x2. Covers up my transmission pan really well. Only draw back is I'm running about 25 degrees hotter than normal. Assuming that's due to the lack of air flow underneath the car. It's been colder here lately so it's not a big deal right now. Probably going to break out the sawzall and find a good place to vent it.

It's because us tiptronic owners know we can't be fast, so we at least try to go low

I've trimmed the back down some so it doesn't spark as much now. As cool as it is to throw sparks everywhere, the first time a police officer sees that...I'm getting in trouble for it.

too be completely honest i smoked a joint and sat down and read from page 1 to the end, and you have been through some ups and downs, and im just glad the whip turned out the way u wanted it too, the cactus green cant die! lol btw i LOVED the copper A8 wheels on the green, looked original and just worked very well. goodjob buddy, all these forums of you guys putting so much money and time into your car always inspires me to maintain my car, keep it as low as possible, and actually makes me wish i study auto mechanics instead of gay ass electro engineering.

I've shot sparks like that before in my car. Smashing my DTS bar at night makes a pretty good spark show. I was at 22.5 when I shot sparks.

Doing my headliner. The old material is in perfect condition. Strip it off or leave it on? Keep in mind it's an avant..so pretty much double the material.

Decided on a color. Cognac brown suede.

    Avant headliners a flippin huge.

It looks red in this picture, it's more of a natural brown/terracotta color. It's still pretty flashy thought

Ignore the fake wood floor. That's being changed soon enough.

What?? Haha I was thinking about doing brown suede while ago too! I think I may go black, but the problem is, my sunroof/ dome light panel is tan, and pre-facelift, so I don't think I'll be able to find a matching black one which stinks. You have anymore pictures of the headliners?
Also, how hard was wrapping the headliners?
