There are two bottles of coolant, the rest is water.

I'm not sure. I think the air is finally out now though. I drove it again tonight and it never overheated. The fan actually kicked on this time. I think water wasn't fully circulating before and so the thermal switch wasn't being tripped. I did notice a small amount of water dripping from the cap nipple. Is a 16 psi cap enough, or should a turbo car use a higher PSI cap?

ive been running a 16psi cap on my 1.8t for a few years now, i used to have a 19-21, and was having problems with blowing off caps on certain ports and coolant leaks. its been solid since switching to 16

i am 99% sure that i ran a 19-21psi on my 1.8t and never had an issue...i would think that with a R motor you would want at least that high

My concern is that once I hook it up to the overflow tank I won't really see how much moisture it is venting.

hah, well it is mounted down on the frame rail in front of the wheel.

I made it to Vegas, sadly without the car. I did get to check out Gabe's race car last night though.

Is there a way to check my alternator run? I am not sure if my battery is just dead or if the alternator is not charging it back up.

just start you car and put a volt meter on the back of the alt and see if it is putting out a charge

oh shoot, didnt think about that...but yes that is where you would test it....

you could just take the battery to autozone or someplace like that and have them test it....
