Throw a piece of vacuum line around that hole so the hole doesn't accidentally cut a wire or anything.

Im actually using part of the old boot that the harness was in coming from the ecu, through the false firewall. Im going to wait to put it around the harness in the hole until I get the motor back in, and everything hooked up.

That's what I am going to do! I have a full spare harness that I'm going to cut up and use to extend wires and keep oem wire wrap on the harness.

Ive got to get some heat resistant wrap, as Ive cut away some of the factory heat shrink/wrap. There is no way, Ill be able to get heat shrink over the plugs to recover it.

Got all my gaskets Friday to start putting the motor back together. Im going to spray the valve cover and intake manifold black, before I put them on. Everything else is bolted back up except for those 2. Ive still got a couple fittings Ive got to order so I can install all of my oil and coolant lines. Im going to try and tackle the engine bay today, get all the holes welded up, smoothed out and ready for paint.

Just a quick update. Got the rest of my fittings except for the 2 oil flange adapters I need for the turbo and oil pan. Everything else is bolted back up to the motor, except for the clutch and transmission. I reinstalled my clutch fan, as Ive ran out of money to even think about picking up an electric fan, and since the transmission in my A6 is on its way out, I need to cut some things out and finish the A4. I plan to bust ass this weekend, and get the car back together. Im going to try my best to get the holes in the firewall welded up tomorrow, and get it ready for paint. Im crossing my fingers, and hoping to have it all back together by Sunday.

Had a good friend come and weld up the firewall for me this morning. Got all my lines finally routed for the oil and coolant. Only thing left for the motor is bolt the clutch and trans up. Going to work on cleaning up the welds on the firewall tomorrow and get it ready for paint.

    Just hanging around...

No new pics of the bay just yet. I need to clean up the welds on the filler plates, which will most likely be done tomorrow.

Got the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate all bolted up. I ran around trying to find a star bit to fit the flywheel bolts that ECS had sent, since the head was round and not 6 sided. Also got my oil return line cut down shorter and ran as straight as possible to the pan.

I like your coolant return line! If/when I do stainless coolant lines I'd like to copy you on that

As for your oil drain line, will you be running AC? My PSi Concepts line hits the AC compressor. I've spaced the AC compressor out by about 4mm and still need to find an appropriately longer belt.

Thanks. All of my lines are just copies from PSI Concepts. I will be running my AC as well. I honestly didnt think about the line hitting the compressor. Hope it isnt too big of a problem when I go to reinstall it.

From my setup, the oil drain line by PSi concepts is pretty much straight without the AC compressor there. It gets stretched slightly as the compressor is tightened into place.

Got the transmission and starter bolted up the the block yesterday. Just got in from grinding down the welds on the firewall. Im going to work with what I got, as I dont want to chance grinding through the welds, and having to get someone to come back over and do it again. Also smoothed down some spots where I had cut off some of the factory studs.

The hard pipe that goes behind the engine, around to the turbo. Practically everything attached to it, I deleted. Bought 034's block breather adapter, got a fitting for it and ran the line to the inlet of the catch can. I deleted most of the vacuum lines as well. There should be a few threads on here, and even Audizine that have a thorough description on everything.

It's really not bad at all. e36 battery cable works, fullsize battery fits in the trunk, and all the brake lines are fairly simple to bend and install.

I may do it later on down the road. But I have got to make room in the trunk, as my stereo system takes up the majority of the trunk for now. Im just in a hurry to get it back on the road, so I can park the A6 and try and salvage the transmission.

Car is back together finally. It starts up and runs, but idles roughly around 400-500rpms, and the clutch doesnt feel likes its fully disengaging, so going into gear is extremely hard. Im having a friend come over this weekend and hook up a laptop to it, so he can adjust the throttle body so the car can idle right, and hopefully figure out my clutch issue.

Had a guy come over and run vagcom on my car. Got the throttle body adaptation done, and put the headlights back in. Car runs, and the clutch for some reason isnt too hard to go into gear now, but Im still thinking of having the system completely flushed.

Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow...... My stock bumper was trashed and I picked this black bumper up a long with a new fender and door, and got tired of the bumper sitting around. I reused the reinforcement bar from the yellow one and stuck the black one to it. I kept most of the center connectors so I can use the center grille. I think it turned out alright.

Reading back through this thread made me depressed, lol. Im still running without a bumper, as I had my intercooler pipes modified to fit better, new silicone couplers, removed the a/c system, and thats it. Car is spiking 25lbs of boost like a boss and pulls hard as hell.

Just installed 034 Motorsports Motorsport Motor Mounts today. The car feels soo different now, without all of the engine slope. The vibrations arent nearly what I was expecting, and bearable for a daily. I highly recommend these to anyone, looking to lock down their engine.
