i used to have a 98 volvo that handled bass and sounded great, but id much rather hear that "VR6 mechanical harmony" than any bass. in a thread about what to get for a "birthday gift" for his himself aka R, this other guy said "sunwoofer" to me thats at least a grand (sub+amp) you could spend to improve the rest of an amazing car

Lots of roaring 20's big band / jazz
Miles Davis, especially anything from his acid jazz period
Louis Armstrong - mostly the stuff where he plays rather than sings
A ton of indie / non-mainstream musicians you've probably never heard of...

Depends on my mood and the weather. On a cold night Pink Floyd hits the spot like no other. On a hot day i throw on some metal. Like to mix it up from time to time with some rap as well.

I have lots of music that I like to listen to in the .:R, but this is is my favorite...

Pat Metheny - Three Flights Up

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkWJ98zMZGQ
2008 DBP .:R32: ...more awesome than a monkey wearing a tuxedo made out of bacon riding a cyborg unicorn with a lightsaber for the horn on the tip of a space shuttle closing in on mars while engulfed in flames...
And in case you didn't know, that's pretty dang sweet. (Sincerely, Flint)

Cannot get into them. I like a lot of different types of music, but the majority of their stuff sounds like anybody could throw all those sounds/noise together. I give their stuff a shot about once a month just to make sure.

      For me as of late:

      The Black Keys
      Norma Jean
      Mew

fields of the nephilim. here's a story:

in Boston, 1988. fields of the nephilim were playing in town and i went to the show.

after the show, some cops show up and there was a bunch of strange drama backstage and around there. the cops were making some fuss about a HUGE ziploc bag of cocaine in the band's back room that was found by a maid working that shift.

it wasn't coke. it was pastry flour. they cover themselves with it before the shows for the nephilim look.

so nobody likes the Melvins, eh?

      @goANJ

vdubnhead, being from outside detroit, has to support the locals: d12, kid rock, eminem, i.c.p., detroit cobras, white stripes, taproot, sponge, bob seger, etc.

      support your local music scene!

Oh man... hitting Random on my iPod is a recipe for confusion.

But my 'Folk Metal' playlist has been getting a lot of playtime as of late:

      Korpiklaani
      Moonsorrow
      Ensiferum
      Heidevolk

I live right down the road, and drive by it on my way to and from work every day.

Were there joints at the grave site, placed deliberately like some sort of offering? It's pretty easy place to score if you are into that sort of thing.
