The 1432nd Squadron - Barrie, ON

We`re a group of guys who own Classic VWs in the Barrie area, in Ontario, Canada. During the summer months (May - September), we attend the local classic car shows. They are held Wednesday and Saturday evenings on Bayfield St., just north of Hwy 400.

Aside from those two public events, we hold our own private club members only events throughout the year. Please check our msg forum to see when and where these events take place.

I live close to there and sometimes check out what is going on....seen a couple of old beetles which I guess would be you guys.
Way to represent amongst all the muscle car folk.

we started the club up roughly 1 month ago and the response has been great. So far roughly 19 members - everyone is very active in the forums too.

1432 - is the firing order of a flat-4 (boxer) engine! cylinder 1, then 4, then 3, then 2.

there are a few pictures in the gallery section of our forum! We meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month at a members house - drinks and shoot the ****.

We are in the middle of organizing a local show/get together for aircooled/h2o euros.

I think he is making sure you are aware of the possible negative connotations associated with the symbol. Looks like you researched it, but a lot of people wouldn't know that. Me for one.

I put Iron Cross images and tail lights on my bug and was called "racist" by dumbass, uneducated rednecks whenever i filled up for fuel or local classic car meets. I understand the imagery in the club logo, but no matter what kind of German insignia you use, there will always be someone to remind us of our vehicle/cultures past.

I'm also a dubber up in the barrie area! Have an mk4 GTI and also a have a bunch of friends at school with vw's too. Non of us are air cooled but I would love to come out as I have great respect for the old school dubs! They looked great last summer whenever I have seen them!

we have a club meeting on the 19th. We will be determining the first get together, definitely would like all euro fanatics out.

you guys have any location preferences/ideas? We always met up at the Bayfield/Kozlov classic car meets however we are open to other ideas/locations.

My bro just finished his '90 VR6 conversion and i know of a dude with a slammed cabrio. I'm positive we could get out 20 or so cars.

Nice, I've been seeing the air cooled rides whipping around town lately, I'm all for it. It'll be a while before my VR MKII is on the road but I will still make an appearance in the old ladies TDI

Glad to see some organized VW action in Barrie again, it's been years since we used to get 20 plus cars down by the beach to dispurse the Uncle Ben's crowd.
