On Saturday I bought this rabbit.







BJ. 1984, 64000 Miles, White Wolfsburg Edition, GTI Facilities, air conditioning

are there any white front blinker? where can I buy?

i dont think anyone would swap a whole car inclouding dash and taillight in germany.

i guess the seats are fom a german car since i never saw the black stripes in an american car.

also there was never a wolfsburg edition mk1 only mk2.

he is asking if anyone has a source for white or clear front indicators for a late westy.

those seats could be found in a scirocco 1 in the states. in 1984 there were wolfsburg edition models

The seats were also found in the convertable as mine had the exact same seats from the factory

there have not been any german build mk1 wolfsburg edition only mk2

BUT

there have been german build rabbits, they had round headlights and euro taillights
i had one of these rare examples.

Yeah, that's a pretty complete US spec car, must have been a servicemans. Seats are not from it, obviously, they would have been unsupportive, flat pleather or velour. Bet that will get some funny looks at Treffen.

Thanks for the link of the white turn signals.

The seats in my Rabbit come from a German 5 door GTI.

The Rabbit was 4 years ago repainted in the original paint. The side rails, the owner then omitted because it pleased him no better.

There was also the Wolfsburg Edition in the U.S..

Possibly as a PDF? Or a good book? In Germany called the "Now I'm helping myself" or "This is how it is"

If you need to get the wiring diagrams and engine specs, you need a Robert Bentley manual. Amazon.com sometimes has them. The fuse block in your car is based on a more American based system which is quite different from the german one, but a lot of the wiring positions and relays are similar.

Yeah you need a US Rabbit Bentley manual.
Be prepared to see how ignorant the US car fuse boxes are. Another place where they totally dropped the ball in Pennsylvania.

Yeah, they're really similar to GM style fuse blocks, and the early '85-6 MkII's assembled there have the same one. It's basically "wiring for dummies". If you look closely, Painless Wiring still uses a similar style box for it's kits.

My Bentley cost $50 at Barnes and Noble. $66 is not bad for such a heavy book.

I have both Bentley and Haynes. If you can find a cheap Haynes buy it. However, a Bentley will be enough.

The American fuse block is based on a General Motors U.S. supply. The German relays and such are similar and usually identical replacements.

They were on some U.S. Built GTI's.

They were a flat black to match the bumpers. You could paint to match.

They were metal and came on 84 GTIs.

no. I've seen this in connection with a chrome bumper. was a black plastic strip. so which one of the top cars to see if you can not see through.

They were definitely metal and no longer available new.
Used is your only option.

Also, they were sheet metal not plastic and required the US style non 5mph brackets to install correctly. Not the hydraulic style.

So now comes the bentley book. unfortunately, the motor JF nothing in it. only the 1.5 FX with carburetor. FX is the same as in the carburetor installed JF?

Otherwise, the book schonmal top.

I will now first all the ignition parts replaced but it's not so easy to correct share in Germany to find securities with the U.S.. proof is still not what I need ignition. have indeed found out that the fit Bosch 09005 and Bosch 09271, but can begin in Germany my parts dealer to anything. all the more difficult as I thought ...

Should be the same carburetor.

As for the ignition parts, the cap, rotor, and wires should be the same as what you can get.

that's just for us not so easy in Germany. JF has the motor is given only in America. So you get VW any more info because he is too old. and in the attachments, the supplier is not available auto.

I have slowly but now all together what I need for now. :-)

Yup My grandpa has a 84 DIesel W/E rabbit
