Unfortunately the repairs were done in January, so I suspect they'll tell me I'm SOL, but it's worth a shot.

Sorry, quick question on my '11 GTI and no time to read through alllllll the pages. I'm leaving work and won't be around the CPU until late tonight. What does the "OFF" mean on the "+" paddle mean. Is that part of a launch control? I pretty much have everything else understood. Way better than my MIV Jetta. to an answer.

If you're in manual mode and you press and hold the Upshift paddle (aka '+' aka 'Off') for 3 seconds it'll deactivate manual mode and put you back into auto.

    Stupid Question:

Has anyone replaced their 6 mm allen oil pan drain bolt with the conventional 18 mm hex oil pan bolt?

    I own a 2012 GTI for reference.

Edit: The thread pitch of the bolts are the same, the 'new style' oil plug is about 10 MM shorter, are there any problems with using the older style bolt?

Edit II: my dealer only sell the old style bolt, guess I'll change to the tried and true.

I changed mine to the GOLD PLUG magnetic drain bolt. It's a bolt and it will help protect my engine

If you install a CCTA downpipe on a CBFA, will it just throw a CEL and run fine?

I'm not exactly sure but the CBFA has three 02 censors?

Will it cause different kinds of issues?

Reason being is that my friend is trading in his car and he would give me his downpipe for free.

CBFA has the extra sensors. You can just plug the 1 up. What brand is it? You can always contact the vendor if you're uncertain. Just ask them what is required to run that dp.

Just pops off. No need to take oil cap off. Held in with 4 snap points. Just pull her out.

Thanks man, Couldn't find anything but the FSI (I think) where you have to take out the airbox and stuff. I've heard of people putting there engine cover on for winter, is there a reason for this?

It isn't, provided your exhaust lines up.

FTR, OE GTI exhaust on a TDI is the tits.

The GTI rear spoiler is glued on the hatch, a good glass guy can do the switch.

2011+ does not have sensors. You either need to install them, or turn off TPMS with vagcom.
