Camry Dent [kam--ree dent] - noun

    1. large bulbous bumper pushed in, caused by subpar parking/driving/vandalism.

    2. often caused by narcoleptic drivers.

    3. high probability of said damage being on a Toyota, specifically in this order
    -Camry
    -Corolla
    -ES300
    -Prius
    -Sienna
    -Scion (all)
    -IS models
    -Yaris
    -Avalon
    -Venza

    4. may also be seen on any other car beige in color or nature.

    5. strong correlations between unintended acceleration and the "Camry Dent" phenomenon have been vehemently dismissed by The Official Myspace page of James Lentz.

    6. statistics suggest, if equipped with Hybrid Synergy Drive© dents are more prevalent but also more likely to be repaired.

    My Toyota Tacoma has one!

But it was caused by off-roading while inept, not drowsiness.

Yup. I used it to cut out my brain, allowing me to mindlessly ram everything until I got unstuck.

Guy I work with drives a clapped out Lexus IS300 with the typical Toyota bumper dent.

I've told him he could probably pop it out in 30 minutes with some basic tools and a heat gun but he doesn't seem to care. Drives me nuts.

Absolutely incredible natural phenomenon. The Camry bump is present more often than not, and my only explanation is because people who buy Camrys don't care about cars. Not caring about cars means you don't care about driving. If you don't care about driving it means you aren't a good driver because you can't be good at things you don't care about. Therefore if you buy a Camry, you are not a good driver.

    Hence, the bumps.

Since we're on the subject of beige camry's...this phenomena has a direct correlation to driving without headlights at night because your pretty electroluminscent gauges make you think your headlights are on!

I swear one day I'm going to play chicken with one of these fools! That'll teach him!

caused a nice sized dent on my outback trying to park over a foot of snow.... and ice, did some minor damage to the under carriage cover, not much, used a hair dryer and a stick to pull it back out.

Most camries of a certain gen will have that dent due to a really thin and oddly shaped bumper cover.

Really strange weather here in Vancouver right now. This year, I can only count one other snowfall which was less than 6cm which only lasted 24hrs before it melted. It was really warm for the past few weeks and then it decided to drop 2cmof the white stuff on us this afternoon. Temps go back to +8 or so for the new few weeks with the typical Vancouver rain till end of April...

Damn. that means my parents camry is super rare too!
no camry dents whatsoever....and here's the kicker. That car has been rear ended twice at slow speeds. No damage, no nothing.

Oh, poor delusional TCLers that don't worship appliances. Little do they know that the triumph of Japanese engineering - Toyota Camry, possess amazingly structured body parts that can sustain tremendous forces without suffering any damage. Practically all Camry dents are caused by US Airforce air-to-land missiles, nuclear explosions, and zombie attacks.

I've long believed that for the most part, Camrys are purchased by those who don't like cars and driving, don't want to learn about cars, and would rather be doing almost anything else besides driving. In other words, they're the opposite of "car guys".

I seem to think that some Camrys are built with armored bumpers, I rear ended one about 6 years ago in my 88 Z28, and it didnt even cause a dimple in the bumper cover.

Meanwhile the paint in the front bumper of my car was spider cracked out the wazoo.

So i pick up a lot of cars at insurance auctions and deliver them to places that put them in containers and ship them all over the world. A lot of the companies really like toyotas so i see a lot of absolutely demolished ones, i only have a couple pics of toyotas but you get the picture. also, sorry for the ****ty phone pics.
