When Josh Stern wanted a yet-unavailable Golf R, but with a little more practicality for his line of work, he did the only thing he could think of. He built his own Golf R Wagen.

I was really hoping for the 4-Motion swap too, otherwise that is one svelte looking wagon.

VERY well done. Looks factory. Would love to do the same with the whole Golf R drivetrain... One day when I'm rich!

Looks very, very good. Also hoping to spy the 4mo swap too but I can understand the omission.

Thanks for the positive feedback. We really enjoyed working on this car and are very pleased with how it came out.

The addition of bi-xenon lights and a full drivetrain swap were discussed over and over. The final decision came down to total cost, as the customer didn't want to spend more ON the car than he did FOR the car. With that said, we are preparing to do a 4motion swap into another 1K chassis vehicle later this spring...

As for the total bill, we don't like to kiss and tell. If anyone is interested in a quote for similar work, we are happy to discuss options by phone or email!

      So I know you didn't do a drivetrain swap but is there a powertrain swap - 260hp 2.0T from TT-S/Golf R?

I kinda agree, the R badge should probably go... Other than that, not one complaint! Love the Jetta wagon look and thats probably the best looking MKVI Ive seen yet!

Looks good, missing a couple things like xenons, LED tails (I know they have to be custom built) and a bigger rear spoiler.

Add those three things and it will be perfect, and exactly what I wish I could do to my car.

Is there a parts list somewhere of what the mods were? I'd especially like to see the bill of materials for the brake mods.

Looks awesome! A great mod for a wagon.

Hopefully once the US R front bumper covers start hitting the parts inventory the $2595 price (without fenders) will come down dramatically.

Would a U.S. GTI front bumper installation require the same fender modifications as the EU R cover?
