The Haldex upgrade has proven to be one of the most effective "fun-factor" mods for the R32. The Competition controller keeps you buttoned down even under braking…it's the competitive advantage any 4-Motion car needs on or off the track. It offers unmatched braking performance, corner entry and on throttle response at corner exit... the way the car should have come from the factory…

Why not post a price instead of PM'ing everyone?

Guess you don't know much about MFG to distributor/dealer pricing and advertising rules.

It's a VERY noticeable improvement over the OEM unit and I highly recommend it to anyone that will be tracking there R frequently. Been running one for the last 8 track events now

Also, if you plan to drive aggressively and/or track the car it is recommended to up the Haldex oil/filter change intervals for maximum reliability and performance.

How does yours behave on the street ? Parallel parking and 3 point turns for example. Any binding ?

      Nice pic BTW !

Binds all the time at full lock... that's just how they work based on wheel speed sensors.

Something I found while searching about the binding issue some people are having.

This can appear when there is dirt inside the magnetic valve ( the big one)

Please blow it clean and try to gently move the needle inside the valve through the small holes.

The needle inside can be move upwards a bit against a spring.

If this doesn’t extract the valve and sensor from the old unit and test it with them.

It is Important that the sensors is correctly mounted in the unit

      This should solve your issue

      Thanks HPA!

Constant binding happened to a guy who put in a new "blue" controller with fresh fluid and filter,
and the binding started immed after install. He pulled it off and put in his factory one, and was fine.

Neuspeed also stated what Marcel mentioned in the above quote, but it seems a lil more than just
dirt particles, at least in this guys situation.

Mine bound up the first day I installed it as well. As I stated before, from what I understand the Haldex computes based on many inputs, one of those being wheel speed sensors. I think what it "sees" is three wheels moving and one staying fairly stationary under tight radius turns thus locking the unit as it "thinks" the wheels are severely slipping. I think this is nothing more then the Haldex responding aggressively as it was designed to do

So the Blue unit binds as well now... or did this just seem to be a one off case, because there are so many people here running blue but I havent seen them report this problem as well?

That is the only case of blue binding that I know of, and it had to be one of the ones I sold.

I was like, you're kidding me, BLUE binding?! I had a tough time accepting it...

I don't have one. Was going to buy one, during the days of selling the Gen1, but decided I am fine w/o it.

Scott, I think your driving style requires the competition version HPA sells. PM Darryl for a price.

If you track your .:R, or you drive very "spirited" very often on back roads you have to get the Competition!!! It makes a world of difference right away!!!

If you just commute from A to B there is nothing wrong with staying stock. If you drive hard every now and then, and maybe a track day or to a year, I would go Blue. If your like me (and others like Aircooled56) and you track your car a lot, and or you drive that byiotch like you stole it, there is 1 and only 1 option imo. Comp baby, Comp!!!!! The thing is the ish!!!!

Don't worry about binding. Remember all full time 4 X 4/AWD (There is a difference people!) vehicles will bind. Its not that big of a deal. Just alter your driving style a little bit and you will never have a problem. Give your self extra space when possible during tight maneuvers so you don't have to turn the wheel as sharp and your good!
UNDER STEER MUST DIE!!! As my skills/abilities increase UNDER STEER magically disappears!!!
Stock is like virginity: Useless and should be gotten rid as soon as possible!!!!

i like a sprited drive now and then......and only drive my R on nice days..

still would like a PRICE on one of these units...
