Cholly got a two year extension that keeps him here through 2013. Figure that will be just about time when he may want to retire and then the Phils can bring in Ryno to succeed him.

Amaro got a four year extension. He deserved it, just not so sure how I feel about it.

And I'm about *thisclose* to buying this shirt off of birdland.com:

      Nice!

My new Lee jersey came this week, only a few weeks now from opening day!

Only a couple days away. Hopefully the boys will keep the ship afloat without chase. At least we know that oswalt can be counted on for the lulz

True, but in all seriousness...losing an arm isn't what the pen needs right now.

And he did sign my WS08 uniform for me in DC two years ago, so he's OK in my book

I think its the right move. Keep Madson where he's comfortable in the setup role. The old man still has it, based on last year's performance.

    14. 03-30-2011 10:55 AM #14
I picked up Madson late in the draft cause I know he's good but I'm scared to pick up Contreras cause he's SO old.

Good luck with your team this year sirs.

      Ha...I'm sure he's really 43 or 44 by now. Who's your team?

way off topic but I wanted to invite everyone out to our GTG, we are super excited for this year as we finally have a location that is big enough.(it only took us 6 years). Anyway I hope to see some of you there, I help organize the event but I am also one of the sponsors so stop by my Nationwide booth and say hi.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that I probably wasn't going to come up to any of the games this weekend. F it. I want to see Cliff. On to Stub Hub!

      EDIT:

SUCCESS! My wife and I will be in section 244 tonight

Nah, isn't the Diamond club behind home plate? These are out in left field right in front of Harry the K's. I did over-pay for them...but this was too big of a game to pass up. The place is going to be nuts tonight, I can't wait. Not getting home until probably 2 or 3 am is going to suck, though I wish I still lived in Mount Laurel

Heh. It was chilly alright. I'm absolutely exhausted now, but it was so worth it. I couldn't even hear that little girl say Cliff's name as she was reading the starting lineup...the crowd erupted just as she was finishing Wilson Valdez

so Cole Hamels struggle tomorrow and phillies lose 5-2 or something like that, at which point everyone will eliminate them from the playoffs.

im almost more anxious to see games that joeblah pitches. its almost more exciting to me to see if he can win us some games against other team's #4 or #5 starters...
