I have an unhealthy obsession with the Golf Rallye...
Its the one car I must own before I die.
Funny the OP should pick the one they did -- mine, ironically enough, was my 1997 Golf 2.0 Trek manual. It wasn't the fastest, the most luxurious nor the quietest; it didn't handle the best -- however, it was the most entertaining vehicle to drive I've ever owned.
I think there is a lot more skill to drive a vehicle like that at 8/10ths of it's capability than to drive my B6 VR6 at 3/10ths of it's capability -- and it was a lot more rewarding.
I've owned all my favorite stateside VW's (Corrado SLC, OG MKI Scirocco, MKI rabbit, MKV R)
EXCEPT a MKII GTI 16V in this color, someday
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Die, You are forgiven. If I Live, I will kill you." Such is the Rule of Honor.
if I can mod it to hell and back a mk1 swallowtail.
if it has to be dead stock. MK2 vwms g60 limited. 210hp awd 4 door mk2 blue line grill and all the options
I'm a certified vw/mazda dealer tech and I run a modification shop on the side.
02 beetle tdi,00 jetta 2x4, 92 miata,,30 pontiac.
i know i'll never have one of those .. a beater 4000 Quattro didn't solve my Audi B2-lust, tho; if I ever run across a clean Coupe GT I'll do anything to get it.
