Has anyone done anything really awesome to their 2011 Jetta?...I'm looking to do some crazy mods. So far I have blue-ish white HID headlights in the front...and LED lights for my backseat dome light.

Can I see some pictures of what you've done along with the parts that you put on?

I need some ideas..mine is the Alpine White 2011 Jetta 2.5 SE

      Thanks!!!

Thing is, there is little support for the car at the moment. The JSW doesnt really have all that in common with our Jetta but rather the Golf is its kin. Also VW is slow to release a accessories catalog mainstream. I'd like to hope more stuff come out soon ( ie ECU tune for 2.0l, more suspension mods and other goodies) but we will have to sit back and wait. So far, I've done an HID kit, 18" Audi RS6 wheels and exhaust tips... I'm at a standstill at this point.

thanks buddy....I'm not into hardcore body kits..I like to keep my car as natural looking as possible...I'm a little cash strapped so rims are out of the question. My plan is to change my DRL lights to LED's. That should add a nice kick to my car.

lowered mine on springs. waiting for coils to come out, and saving for wheels atm. i know you can get the bodykit from vw from one of the vortex users here, full set goes for just over 2k painted with free shipping. like the guy above me said, theres virtually no support out yet for the jetta's, im expecting alot of company's to start rolling stuff out once the GLI comes out.

      I'll be ordering one soon.

      My immediate wants would be:
      - RS4 or B8S4 wheels
      - Springs
      - HID Headlamps with clear corners (don't exist yet)
      - LED Tail lamps (don't exist yet)

I think those mods would make the car really pop.

you're totally right man...everything on that list sounds awesome..I've got the HID headlamps..but can't do clear corners because the police in my city are majorrrrr a-holes when it comes to mods on cars haha..

Do you know if the headlight switch that has the "auto" option is available for my Jetta in the USA yet?. My jetta just came with an on and off switch and it bothers the heck out of me.

Which particular model are you ordering?

Due to circumstances I had to get the SEL about a month ago. At that point they had just revealed the GLI but they wouldn't have made it here until months later so I had to get an SEL. I love the car but I know the turbo engine has lots of potential.

I can honestly say that after owning the car for a month I like the engine in the low RPM range. You can really feel the torque drop off after a while and hopefully and intake, exhaust, and chip would help a little in this department.

The euro headlamps don't have the amber reflector that we have here and look so much cleaner. I want these but nobody has brought them in at the moment. Until there are projectors avail, I'm sticking with my HID kit. I've been on the other end of driving in front of my car and have not been blinded by the light dispersement nor the cutoff angle... Can't speak for everyone else's kit but mine are fine for now.

I'm new to the VW world considering I've only had my car since January of this year. So doing mods and stuff isn't exactly my strongest point (before my Jetta I had a '97 toyota camry!!).

Here's my question, are parts for the GTI interchangeable with the Jetta? If i were to buy certain things that are meant for the Golf, would they fit my Jetta?..

I know it's a stupid question, but I dont know jack about making my car look nice so I just need people's opinions on what to do

I'm in Canada, so our models are named differently. But I'll get the fully loaded model with everything but Nav (screen's too small for me). The dealer said leather will be available in the Summer, so I'll wait. GLI could be interesting, but I'd have to quote it out because it's monthly payment might getting close to some superior cars. The Jetta for me is a way to save money for a few years.

Is that directed at me? I'd never put HID in a headlamp that doesn't have a projector - like in my 4.4i, S4 & modified E36.

thanks!!...I made this thread to see what my options are as far as making my car look nice. I've done the basic things such as changing the interior lighting and putting on an HID headlight kit.

Now I'm just fishing for more ideas as to what else people have done (dropping the car a few inches, spoiler..etc)

What kind of part are you talking about? A majority of GTI parts, things like intake/exhaust/suspension, won't be compatible with the Jetta.

Don't worry about not knowing the answers to some questions. We all have to learn at some point and the forums are a great place to do just that.

Thanks!...I'm just looking for some ideas as to what would make my car look much nicer than it is now. I know being fairly new, there aren't many parts out for my car yet (at least here in the states there aren't). But I like building my car piece by piece starting with the small things such as LED lighting.

Question: Would it look nice/be worth it to actually install a Fog light kit on my car since it didn't come stock?

I don't have my HID's installed yet (my cousin has the cable and program needed so my car doesn't cut power the lights)...but these are white lights I have on temporarily

      With flash..

      Without flash

lol I know it doesn't I just realized that..

I just meant that I want to mod my engine and get a nice set of rims and maybe a spoiler. I'm not into changing the entire look of the car with painted body kits or anything like that. For me, the little things such as lighting and rims are what make the car itself awesome

I'll let you know about the rear map lights...but for the front I haven't looked yet (they're currently set to "off" because I hate the yellow color).

anyone swapped out their rear plate bulbs? I think they use w5w bulbs, but was checking to see if anyone had changed them out yet. Thinking of getting some "flat style" LED's with the built in resistors...

Here's my question, are parts for the GTI interchangeable with the Jetta? If i were to buy certain things that are meant for the Golf, would they fit my Jetta?..

I know it's a stupid question, but I dont know jack about making my car look nice so I just need people's opinions on what to do
i know that intakes arnt going to be compatible for you.exhaust maybe compatible from mk6 golfs but i wwould double check to make sure.give it a few months and some thread will start poping up and you find out what you can do.

The bulb is T10 194 wedge style. I just did mine last week. For some strange reason i didn't get "bulb out" warning. When I did DRLs no warning either. I think I started to notice a pattern here. It's too soon to draw conclusions but IMO VWoA cut corners and cheaped out on this feature as well. Who knows?? If any one noticed that too let us know...

I bought these for rear plate:

You need a universal H7 HID kit....the "new" metal clip used to hold the bulb on the Jetta has to be slightly modified to accept the new bulbs...not a big issue, u just need to whip out a dremel for a little hackin'!
      **UPDATED! NOW 14 VW's since 1996...Yeah, I have a problem! **
