Is anyone forgetting the 8 point lead the libs have over labor at the mo? As much as I support the carbon tax, it aint an election winner. Whoever is head of the libs will be next pm. Damn, even Tony Abbott could win the election in the current climate...![]()

Not offering one but the constant 'Julia has the wood on Tony' was getting a bit tired considering the last election campaign effort by Jules.
Im no Tony fan, I'd rather Malcolm back in the job but it ain't gunna happen while the Coalition have a 8 point lead in the polls.

Woeful journalism at ABC News 24 this morning.
The whore that hosts the morning show is a disaster junkie.

Accidentally turned off? FFS!Air pressure inside the reactor rose suddenly when the air flow gauge was accidentally turned off, blocking the flow of cooling water into the reactor and leading to full exposure of the rods, operator TEPCO said overnight.

True.
On a side note I heard a promo on News Radio for the ABC's upcoming radio coverage of the NSW election this morning and was a bit dismayed that they'd used all sorts of techniques to make the voiceover sound like a bad Cher song mixed in with a desperately dramatic commercial TV promo.

On the other hand, the coverage on the abc website has been excellent.
Spare a thought for the staff remaining on site at the nuclear facility. I recall reading about the people that stayed on site to try and diminish the impact of chernobyl. Most of them died from radioactive poisoning in the weeks following the event.

Seems to me that the worst of it is over. Thank God for that. The thought of a radioactive plume heading towards Tokyo was quite surreal.

Anyone seen the Miyazaki film Ponyo? The idea of the ocean swallowing up a fishing village now seems quite prophetic.
