Howl's moving castle is one of my favourites.

You wonder why Japanese mythology is full of such apocolyptic imagery, then something like this happens and it all starts to make sense.

I was scared of mdt's nuclear apocolocolypse, until I found [SA] goons had gone all Wikipedia sometime in the last 10 years. Now I'm frking terrified.

I can't believe I agree with something Andrew Bolt has written....

Yeah, he was on-point on the Insiders as well last Sunday.

it's a sad indictment on the Australian media when he's one of the more sensible commentators at the moment....

  11. 03-15-2011 08:28 PM #151
Everyone is doing though, my favourite US political commentator is also indulging in a bit of hyperbole.
The language barrier and n1p's inherent exclusionist policy regarding 'outsiders' isn't making matters any better.

  12. 03-15-2011 09:38 PM #152
Bolt is a dishonest douchebag whose lies about climate-science are legion. On inciters he deliberately lied about the size of the pro-carbon-pricing rally and the number of people killed in Chernobyl. If he got something right it was no doubt completely unintentional.

If I was interested in the opinion of Limited News' professional propagandists I'd waste my money on one of their filthy rags or visit one of their web-sites. Blot has no place spouting his lies on the ABC.

That doesn't mean I'm completely anti-nuclear however - I think there could be great potential for thorium-based nuclear power.

  13. 03-15-2011 10:08 PM #153
Yeah but tell us how you really feel about him.

I agree that it is a good article.

Bolt is an opinion writer to get a reaction and he is certainly good at doing that. He's no worse than pollies taking half truths or facts out of context to try and support their opinion.

I think we should register a Tex party and get into parliament - what would be our principles and policies.

aaah yezzzz! Andrew Bolt...love his work....always has an axe to grind, cares less for objective sources and ensures dissidents aren't published. Which brings me to Alan Jones....see above!

Japan ain't out of the woods yet. It's a very serious incident occurring during times when the ability to respond is very, very weak

Another advanced earthquake warning has gone out

Workers have been evacuated from the Fukushima plant because of radiation levels and smoke continues to pour out of reactor #3

They're apparently using helicopters apparently to cool ****

and this is what reactor 3 and 4 look like

I dont think things are getting better..

Pfft, it's just the media blowing it all out of proportion. Everything's gonna be okay.

got a mate who was in tokyo at the time says he couldn't sleep due to constant aftershocks and fear.

Just watchin on NHK the Helicopter dumping water on #3 reactor and mostly missing

I'm no nuclear physicist to be sure, but even I can tell this is doing f*ck all. and what about all the electronics monitoring the plant etc, how do they react to being drenched in water? It boggles the mind.

This is madness, and not sparta.

Not sure at this stage, Liz is 4 months pregnant so we can't really risk anything. We'll just wait it out and see what happens at the plant.

Not including the embassy crowd, pretty much everyone I know in Tokyo is getting out of the country. There's 6 of us in the Grand Hyatt here and another 7 or 8 arriving today.

They've just had to abort the helicopter plan. It was like piissing on a bushfire and it sounds like there's too much radiation. Awesome.

Hey congrats on the future baby! Good move to leave Tokyo. A friend of mine is on his way out as we speak. For the foreigners, there is no point taking the risk.
