Ayrton Senna's death was like that of Jim Clark: sudden, unexpected and heart-breaking. It caused a cessation of breath in me, a thought of not watching any results of this cruel sport any longer. His talent and temperment, his impatience with the politics, and his sheer exuberance of intellect were world-class. The track battles with Prost and Mansell were worthy of Greek tragedy. He was an inspiring young man.

My wife and I are driving up from Pittsburgh for the movie. I'm excited to see Toronto again too. Please let me know if anyone has an extra ticket to the Friday showing. My buddy wants to go but he didn't get a ticket before it sold out.

Apparently it was available for streaming on netflix for a short time and then they took it down.

Anyways, I just finished watching it a few days ago. It is absolutely amazing. Move over Steve McQueen this documentary shatters Le Mans a million times over. Absolutely stunning.

There is another documentary that I watched a while back on Veoh called Ayrton Senna The Right To Win. It was quite good as well. That can hold you over until the movie arrives in one form or another. The one on Veoh has english subtitles. The one on Youtube is in Portugese withno subtitles.

Really enjoyed this film on Friday night. It was nothing groundbreaking in terms of telling Senna's story, however the footage, interviews and never-before-seen footage of drivers briefings and time in the paddock were very cool to see. Don't expect to be blown away by the race footage...there is some great stuff, but you can find a lot of great Senna highlights on youtube.

I did feel like they could have spent a bit more time on Imola and Senna's behavior after the Ratzenberger wreck. From what I've read in biographies/online he was quite outspoken before the start of the race about the track safety, etc. They didn't really touch on that during the Imola segment.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing it again..either in theater or on blu-ray.

Saw it yesterday in Brooklyn, saw it in the back of a bar on small projection screen! Great movie, it sucks that you know how its going to end though

I have to say, i was expecting a little more at the end from it - you know how when top gear did the tribute they interviewed all sorts of drivers about him? I was hoping for something like that. Maybe its the fanboy in me but i hoped they would roll credits over alonso talking about senna.

Saw this opening night in NYC. Truly moving. They had F1 cars outside the theater the following day, and have been giving out posters and rain jackets. I should have waited a day.
