yea i wanted something a little more interesting than the plastic box, so i made up this. drilled and tapped the manifold and this plate attaches. i know theres no performance gains or anything. thats not what i was going for. just a fun new look.

Here is my 1.6NA with a k26. It's about to. Be replaced by an AAZ since its got some serious piston slap, I'll probably rebuild.

mind telling me what u platted your parts with? looks gold, but i always assumed gold platting would be too expensive to be feasible, but i am often times miss led
      zinc, or polished copper maybe?

nolan: early mk1s came with a radiator with built in expansion tank, not needing an external

      heres one on summit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PLI-431260/?rtype=10

should be able to find elsewhere for cheaper, sure someone will chime in.

often times for sale on these fs forums, i have picked up a few on here in the past

Only problem with the ones with the integrated filler is that they have less cooling surface area, but if that's not a concern then it might not be an issue.

Nope, I'm with you. On a Mk 1, that's just suicide, enless you aren't going to drive it.

I drove with no timing cover for years. thousands of miles. only problem I ever had was dropping a washer in there.

Back to the top for the mk1 thread with the most awesome.

      IMO

Personally the most interesting/exciting bit of the idi diesels is the ip. I would love to see more of the detailed ve pumps. The copper plating was uber cool. Anyone else with a plated polished and powder coated pumps?
