It's a valid question isn't it? Why hack up a Vanagon for that engine?

In the adult world, people can take criticism.

It might not be the worlds greatest engine, but it's a vast improvement on a wasserboxer!

i am an adult, and build projects. but that motor is bad in the car it came out of, why use it in anything else? try a 2.7TT or v8 or whatever.

the motor choice was wierd thats all.

I take it for what it is, interesting. This is the Hybrid swap forum after all and I think this fits rite in. I guess its almost like someone putting a honda motor in a vw its not condoned by purist's but it certainly takes skill to pull it off. Interesting Build

you talk to much and get offended to easy as well a bash people quickly before knowing who or what they do. i don't own a 8v or any of the crap you speak of.

that car/motor is not a great setup in any car. its just a wierd swap to see and wondering why you did it, thats all,,,,grow up. grow some skin, its the internet. you post, you'll get opinions. if you don't want them don't post and just talk amounst your friends about it.

i give your props for fitting it and doing what your doing. most people just talk big and never do anything. i personally don't like,,, no hate that motor and car it came out of and have worked on cars for 18 years now. chrysler products are crap in my book, from experience NOT just my opinion.

carry on, get it done, have fun with it

My high school bud mounted an early Buick straight-eight into a Farmall H tricycle front end tractor. It would run about 50. It's cooler than your Vanagon.

If my internet search is correct, Thummmper is 50 yrs old and based in SoCal.
According to a link I found, he has plenty of experience doing Suby swaps into Vanagons.
He also develops prototypes for Wieland Werkz.

I am quite impressed with the pics I've seen. I would love to see more pics, I respect the dedication and fabrication work.

This is the weirdest thread I've seen in quite a while

I clicked to see an engine swap in a van.....
    I don't see anything.

why are idiots suprised by the responses they get? Am I supposed to be their wake up call?
when you use the word too....It has 2 o's. put 2 o's in it too...
I posted extensive photos of the project here with brief text describing it. I run into 6th graders every now and then. when they use words like v8, they label themselves. they also dont reveal their brilliant projects cause either they dont have one or its a nova. heres a photo. I can search their avatars and go **** on their threads too. but what for? to label myself that way?

Neat project, but you've got the arrogance of an engineer, so I'm not interested in details.

I don't care, go for it. I've been catching hell for various projects for years. I like to do things that haven't been done before, which you clearly also do, but I don't take my ball and run home at the first opportunity if a few people don't like it. For god's sake man, on a 'new' thread, that hasn't had a chance to circulate, with an engine that most folks don't even know anything about, on a forum that generally has a 'purist' mentality...you HAVE to expect this sort of thing.

I think what you've done is wicked, but I can't tolerate that privileged attitude that all engineers develop. The "I'm superior, so I won't listen to you unless you say nice things" thing gets old REAL fast. Hell, you might not even BE an engineer...but you sure do carry the act well.

I am the content---feel free to repel me
this isnt my first rodeo---I have over a dozen forums--none nearly as sixth grade as this one--I got dog piled here--I'm not a masochist--what would possibly motivate me to stick?

THE MESSAGE is, keep your **** to yourself--especially if you shoot from the hip with your lip all the time--
are we still beating this dead horse? positivity works--negativity doesnt--unless you are a sadist..
well? gonna play nice? got any more insults in that bag? jaguar fronts

    and beamer rears
