Good thing, because I'm like the anti-painter. I wish it was more like Photoshop. Select, fill, done.

I really have no where else to put this so i'm typing it here.

in mid 2008 (17 at the time) i lost almost all of my friends over something stupid involving my girlfriend at the time. ex-friends pretty much tortured me psychologically through FB and Xbox live and the phone.

a few months later in late 2008 (18 then) i was diagnosed with cancer. i turned to my ex-friends hoping to have there support, and that we could move on over the silly reason we lost touch. i only told those who were my closest friends at the time we lost touch, and they told everyone else. during the phone calls they really didnt have anything to say (one even asked if they should be worried if it was contagious ) , and i only heard from or saw one of them while i was sick. and the only reason i did was because he was dating my then GFs sister. so he was pretty much forced to. no one came to visit me, no one called, nothing. most of the BS they put me through like fake FB profiles stopped but some of the crap like anonymous xbox live messages continued. they even mocked me for having cancer in one of them.

anyway mid 2009 i was finished with chemo and the doctor said the cancer was gone.

that was a long time ago and i like to think that that time in my life is done with and i have moved on and no longer hear from or deal with those people. i like to think that i have gotten over it but sometimes it still hurts to know that the people i had been friends with for years, even someone who was my friend since 1st grade, could turn there back on me.

but the reason why i am posting this is because today i learned in my cancer biology class that friendship (meaning have more than 1 friend) leads to an overall survivability from cancer by 4X. because i lost those friends at the time of diagnosis i only had my family and my GF for support. this just brought up some really old and not so good memories. it just makes me feel more abandoned even more and learning this really put me in a bad place today. i felt that maybe typing this out would help, which it did.

that's my rant. i doubt anyone has similar experience and could give advice on the situation. sometimes i think about getting in touch with them and telling them off. but then i realize that they're not even worth the time or the energy. and just incase anyone was wondering, i have made plenty of friends since then and have been cancer free since april 2009

Why? Either their parents pay for them, or they have a giant car payment and mooch off of their parents. As long as someone lives off of their parents, no matter how old they are, they are still children. Grownups earn what they have.

Act like a grown up and you will see that you can still pull more ass in a hoopty than children in their parents' sponsored sedan.

Why? They took loans out and are now in debt on something that depreciates. They're stupid!

19 year old I know says she's dating someone that's "rich" because he drives a WRX and bought a house. No, he's in debt up to his eyeballs and he can get loans because he has a decent paying job. That's not rich. I have no debts and own my own car and place. Does that make me "rich" I don't think so. dumb girls

    sjt1985 nailed it.

Also, be consoled that those *******s were NOT friends. They were immature self-centered scum, and you are definitely better off without them in your life.

Best of luck to you, staying cancer-free! IF you don't already have a pet, you'd do well to consider getting on. Check the beneficial effects of pet ownership when going through any life-threatening experience; you'll find that having one will give you an amazing edge in beating the threat!

No you wouldn't. If your parents offered you a new 335i you'd be thrilled. It's okay to admit you'd like it if someone else bought you something nice. It's retarded to demand that they do or get upset if they don't, but it's allowed to be happy if they do.

Received the biggest paycheck I've ever had today - got a huge bonus for meeting food cost/labor rate numbers 3 months in a row, completely unexpected... Get to the bank drivethrough window, they sent the check back because it wasn't signed. Went back to work, got it signed - back to the bank. Closed. Had to eat the dollar menu at Wendy's because my room mate decided he couldn't pay his half of rent/gas/power/water all due this week. $12k check in my pocket eating fast food. Eff that. Anybody need a place to live? I'm going to need a roomie soon
I've got a bunch of high end vintage audio gear I'm clearing out, restored Marantz 4270 - better than new condition; Pioneer SX-5590, 8/10; Concept 16.5, 8/10 cosmetically - 10/10 function. Various high end vintage speakers: Rectilinear Research, AR, Kenwood, Infinity, McIntosh, Leslie 251. PM me for details, clearing out to finance home theater upgrade.

That's almost always a trap. Working under one of the mechanics who gives you the **** work he knows he won't make time on, along with a lot of the BS lube jobs. I feel for ya, but I suppose the certs will make it worth it in the end.

Yeah, all I do are tires, oil and creaks/rattles, but in three years I'll be able to work anywhere and make halfway decent money while working on cars. Beats working at a desk.

    Speaking of rants:

****ing snow tires. We have 4 shipping crates with shelves in them we store winter tires in, and I've had to sort and fill them all the last two workdays while I had a cold.

Sorted and moved 40 sets of tires from one end of the property to the other today, my body is beat.

I'm glad you are still healthy. And you also learned that people are stupid. The older you get, hopefully the more you learn about life and yourself, and the more you are able to find people who really matter to surround yourself with.

Also why is everyone getting so young?

Yes this. All day this. Not talking about the people who got one from mommy and daddy, but the people who have better jobs than me and make more money and don't have kids and can live in the beautiful water front condos....
Whatever. I have the excitement of two kids and two old cars. Is the starter going to go this morning? Will there be toothpaste all over the sink? Maybe someone will wet the bed at 3am...All these wonderful things in my life, who has time for a brand new .:R or a M6....

I enjoy the challenge of building construction design.

    And on that note:

People stereotyping all desk jobs as terrible jobs!!

My mom and stepdad are both govt workers, with Interesting jobs (mom works for NATO, stepdad works for finance) but I need to do something I'm interested in, and waking up every morning and getting to work on cars is great. Now, it's time to sleep, cause I'm sure I'll get all the dumb work tomorrow since its my birthday.

Gee, if only I was not already married. You make such a compelling offer.

Ah, I do have a rant. I am a great driver. I have never been in an accident. I have never dented my car (or anyone else's unless they deserved it) and I have never curbed my wheels. Enough with the women can't drive BS. I can drive. I love to drive. I would drive the piss out of your stupid bmw and put it away dirty.

Alright enough of that. I have to sleep so I can be ready for my desk job tomorrow.

Over the last 2 years my mom told me she's been dry and free of drugs. That's not true any more.

I was the only one of her 3 sons to give her this one last chance and I'm done.
She can rot in her hell, hopefully sooner than later.

Sorry to hear that, very hard to give up hope especially when it's family. Stay steadfast with your decision, it get's easier and probably(it was for me) in your best interest.
