Give me a f-ing break with the "woe is the taxpayer" garbage already. So sick of the whining from people every time banks, police or automakers are mentioned (and not even in a political context). Like I'm so sure you know exactly whose tax payments went to fund what and that they even mind that it did. Would you like the government to mail you back the fraction of a penny TARP may or may not have cost you? Would you quit crying then?
Thoughts expressed are those of the poster and not those of some long dead guy who I choose to speak for me.

    Fuel Pump.

This has not been a good few months for my volvo. Let's go back 3 months when my check engine light was on. The car started stalling out and shutting down, figure out it's the MAF. I end up having to bring it to the guy right down the street even though I know he is going to overcharge. So I tell him what is wrong and he fixes something else, calls me and I ask about the MAF. He tells me oh no that's not the problem. I tell him to drive it around a few more times which he does, calls back and tells me it's the MAF. So $1500 later, my MAF is fixed but the check engine light is still on. He says is the header pipe, not an urgent fix, he can do it for another $1500. I call another guy who will do it for $300, but tells me that's not what the check engine light is about. The light is on for a fuel sensor error, no big deal he tells me. Oh and your water pump is about to go. $1000 later I have a new header pipe, IPD springs, new suspension and new wheels. She looks hawt. 4 days later the water pump (that got put in less than a year ago) blows, my timing belt slips and the engine kills itself.

I cried. A lot. Then got it towed to a different place recommended by more people and get a new engine for $2500. Everything is going great. 3 weeks ago I am on my way to bring my kid to her dad, we stop at starbucks, I get back in the car and nothing. Bad starter. So she goes back to the shop, $400 later we have a new stater. Next weekend is SoWo - long drive from MD to GA. Everything is fine until I get what I think is a bad tank of gas in NC. Barely make it to GA and the next day the car stalls out and shuts off while driving. So I give her some premium and she seems fine. One the way home there were a few times that I had no response from the accelerator, but the RPMs stayed at 2k. It was a few seconds and done, then didn't happen again. I thought all of this was because of the bad gas. All week she was great, and even Friday when I brought my kid to her dad the drive was good.

Last night, we get in the car to go to a party. Sitting at a light on a hill, not too far from home yet, she stalls and shuts off. I turn her back on, rev the engine and then it happens again. So we head to the gas station for some more premium gas and some of the dry gas stuff. I drive around a few times and it seems fine, then I get the loss of acceleration thing again. We head home and my husband takes the car around. He got it on the highway without a problem, but it shut off three times in the neighborhood.

So, fuel pump. I hope. But now it has to wait because of all the bazillionty other things this car has needed recently. I seriously thought about lighting it on fire last night, but that would be bad for the environment.

This almost makes me want a Camry.

That blows. You might want to replace the fuel filter before spending money on a fuel pump.

$1500 for a MAF? Unless it is made out of gold and half the engine needs to be disassembled to get to it I'd say you got had. I did the MAF on my 98 pontiac grand prix before I got rid of it and IIRC the part was $60 and it took me literally ninety seconds to replace.

Holy crap bird, what was the deal?

So I'm driving down a residential street and this bird is just screwing around, flying around in the street, nowhere to go.

So BLAMMO, bird is smashed into front of car and very dead, car could use a cleaning.

    I mean, mistakes were made.
The bird, I mean either trees for sleeping, grass for worm eating, or skies for travelling. Flying around at bumper level was not really needed.

Myself, I mean I could of stopped. I was not going very fast, at first at least. I guess I did not need to speed up at least but still I mean, mistakes were made on both ends.

Luckily it's raining so that will take care of most of the bird.

    Dear MIL,

I know you care about music education in schools. But prattling on about how your music teacher daughter's principal loves music but caved on a new piano for the school does no one any good. Especially 4000 miles away in Germany. In fact, neither I, nor your son, nor your grandsons, give a flying you-know-what about it. If you want to tell us about your successful fund-raising effort to get a nice piano, that we would listen to, but oh, you don't have time for that. You only have time to complain about it. And while you're at it, quit telling us what perfect parents you were. Paying for you daughter's living expenses when she's been married with kids and working full time for fifteen years is a bit much. That is not good parenting.

I am sick and ****ing tired of listening to you whine about how horrible things are. Either put up or shut up. You are a damper on my life and I keep moving because I want to go somewhere that you will never be. Take your money and give it to your daughter and leave us the **** alone!

I have a number of friends from high school who's parents STILL pay for the majority of their expenses.

and little part of me dies every time they post some moronic tea-partier statement about welfare recipients, etc.

It's like you enjoy being a bitch to people.

No, I didn't invite her to my party. I'm not a big fan of hers, but I don't want to exclude her. So when someone had invited her it's not like I was going to tell her not to come. I'll smile, be nice and put up with her.

You? You glare at her like a total bitch and are downright rude when she shows up. Look, you don't like her because she said some pretty crude stuff to me when we worked together... I get that.

Get over your insecurities. That was at least a year ago. Be an adult. Quit this bitchy East Coast attitude thing. You give it to half the people you come in contact with. The girl at the concert the other night who asked a simple question, waiters and waitresses and, sometimes, even me. Thin ice. You're on it.

Also, for the love of God, when you picked up our rabbit the other day by the neck, I almost lost it. You were almost single right then. It wasn't because you didn't know that it wasn't healthy for them. It was because the look on your face and the total no nonsense matter in which you did it was, quite frankly, scary. I've seen you be too rough with that poor little animal.

It's a stretch, but now I can't help but imagine what you'd be like if we'd ever get married and have kids.
    They'd need therapy.

I drank a lot last night at my party, but not for the fun of it.

It's because I was trying to distance myself from you and your bull****.

    Not gonna happen.

    But seriously reevaluating the relationship.

She's at a really bad time in her life right now. Really not wanting to add a break up to her list of issues. I just don't know if this stuff is reconcilable. I'm nice to an extreme degree. She isn't.

Eventually I just wonder when her anger and issues are going to be turned onto me and I become her punching bag.

Don't get me wrong, she has some majorly redeeming qualities. It's the best relationship I've ever been in.

But when this stuff occasionally rears its ugly head, I want out of it immediately.

I guess it's not entirely fair either because I haven't talked to her about it much. Other than a stern "BE NICE" when this stuff happens.

I think I'll talk to her tonight. This'll go well.

Scruff of the neck. Really unhealthy for an adult rabbit.

It was like she was picking a shoe off the floor. Just sort of a grab, yank, lift, put in cage... not necessary.

(WTF this is a weird relationship dynamic. )

Let me give you a tip. Let your feelings be known and let the chips fall where they may. Repressed anger is no way to stabilize a relationship.

Pick your battles carefully, but don't tolerate something that's obviously wrong.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

Why oh why must a internet based company feel the need to take my money, order the part, receive the part and then mail it to me all because they want to give me a tracking number...... I just want my damn part I ordered!

I've had a complete mental block for the last 2-3 months. I'm having a real hard time grasping the easiest of concepts. My mind does not want to retain information. I'd like to think it's because I've been overwhelmed with the new baby and have been out of work for 8 weeks on paternity leave. I feel retarded

I get so sick and ****ing tired who equate "drunk" and "having fun." For that matter, all the dip****s who think you can't have fun without alcohol, and all the advertising that supports their dumbass assumption.

People need to grow the **** up, stop thinking like teenagers.
