Not every obstacle is high enough/wide enough to see with mirrors. I have this on another car and it has paid for itself many times over.

Any estimate on cost for this?

My estimate is $430 bucks IF you already have the 8 Optical Parking Sensors.

The costly parts are the Control Unit of course ($157.38) and both Assist Sensors ($80.52 each)

I really don't understand the point of putting yourself through the hassle of this mod. But hey, I'm all for 'its your car, do what makes you happy.' That being said, post pics and good luck

thanks for the updates! Nice progress!

Where is the steering module located? What version did you have before? Will check mine to see what version it is.

Apart from that, someone seemed to find the part number for the bumper sensor holders.

It is located below the Steering Wheel, you have to remove the SW/Airbag and the lower SW cover.
I had before this part number 1K0 953 549 AS.

I'm wating from a friend in Germany to grab the parts and then I will try.

Remember I will do this for a MK5, not sure about MK6 but should be similar I guess.

Biggest question mark is the compatibility of the ABS Module in the cars that want to make this retrofit.

The wiring harness or the extra wires that needs to be attached with the park assist unit.

one more question is that do I need to replace Parking sensor controller to install this? And also do provide me with a step by step guide to install it. please..

      thanks

Northernsky posted the wiring diagram a few posts above. If you already have OPS, you'll need to add the two side sensors, extra console switch, and yes, change the control module.

Hi, newby here! picking up my golf R(with rns510) in thr morning 6 months old and with the wifes driving need to fit the ops asap, but found this thread and will hold off a while and do the full park assist with ops in one hit i think. Looking forward to a full step by step if possible!! it may just about save the bumpers being painted every month

Trying to find some reference to my ABS module in ETKA, but so far not found anything with the same part number - looking at illustration 614-10. It shows the part number as 1K0 907 375 maybe it's somewhere else in ETKA??

For my MK6, my ABS module is 1K0 907 379 AJ. I scanned another GTi with park assist and his ABS module part number is 1K0 907 379 BE, but his car was a later model, so not sure if this is just a running change, or specifcially needed for park assist.

I just got the remainig parts and updated the part list since the Sensor Plugs were wrong.

Here is another Park Assist thread from a German forum for a Passat retrofit.

I will try to install soon, but time is not enough these days.

Just only to be prepared if my ABS Control Module does not work MK60 (1K0 907 379 AC) I bought this used Control Module which is MK60EC1 (1K0 907 379 AJ). I hope there are no compatibility issues.

Waiting the part from German eBay:

      http://www.ebay.de/itm/ATE-VW-ESP-St...-/120673873117

I will install the Park Assist with the current ABS Module and report back, if it fails, I will install the MK60EC1 version and expect results.

Not yet since I got troubles sourcing the ABS Module, good news is that I will get it next Monday.

It will take me some time to install since I recently got married, so I need to put my head back on the track
