I think its more amazing that some of these cars have survived rusts in the Pacific Northwest...

Rust isn't really an issue in the PNW...

That's one of the things a hate about the Northeast.

Actually, teh NW has been rocking these 4 door Dimes since they were new. When I was involved in teh scen in the early '80s to early '90s up there, these were still thesame things you saw. Most of these cars have been regualr drivers and cheap beaters forever, adn you can still find them in slightly beater daily driver form for cheap all over teh NW, with the exception of the ones that were never imported here. those are still a bit pricier. But Hondas, Datsuns, Mazdas, Toyotas, etc from that era are actually still rather common and rust free (even as beaters). Love the PNW car atmosphere, and miss it terribly.
I love cars, but the problem is they are like schroedinger's hobby. They're always in a quantum superstate of being both awesome and a huge waste of time and money... until observation momentarily forces them into one state or another.

No salt on the roads. What we call rusty in the PNW is a quarter sized hole in the rear quarter panel. Anything larger than that is a parts car, 'cause rust free, but dented, stuff is so readily available.

Now mold, that's another issue altogether. Stuff'll mold within a month if parked outside.

Ok, I can see mold being a bigger problem in Seattle.

And yea... PNW has a steady supply of old Japanese iron from rust free California.

Yup, only if you're up on the passes from mid-Fall to early-Spring is salt an issue. With the once or twice a season snow/ice storm for a few days each, it's nothing but wet roads, rain, and 35-40*F in the winter.

Now moss or mildew on the other hand, that stuff gets everywhere

Wonder if one of the beat 2dr 510s was my Moms...

...Mom sold it to a line cook for $150 cash money when I turned 15. Floors were rotting, didn't run, but it was 100% complete. I'm glad we sold it; I'm upset I never got to restore it.

They're not braced together at the top either... so good luck tuning it if that's a push/pull linkage between them.

Was, kept getting bigger and bigger every year to the point that it was just too ridiculous to host at Golden Gardens. This year the Northwest Nissan's meet was held at Evergreen Speedway, and most likely will continue to be held there til they kick us out.
