I love old school car audio. I actually have two PPi early art series demo amps. I wanted to use them but they have too much history behind them

No point in having them if they just sit in a closet. Get them installed

My A300 is still working great after what... 16 years now? The first gens Art Series are just as solid. You'll be fine

In that case, get the Qforms kick panels that hold a 6.5" and run a tweet, mid, mid bass setup (like MB Quart for example).

You can't go wrong with either. I like the old school Boston's better though. I always felt the MB's tweets were to bright but the magnets on the mids of the Bostons were nice looking but to big for some locations. You could also go with AVI and I believe some old alpine mids were made by Dynaudio (not sure though). I used to have a set of alpine mids and they were identical to my Dynaudio's. Also ADS speakers. For subs the old paper coned Soundstreams.

As for amps phoenix gold ms250, ms275, mq430 or their cheater amps ms25, ms50, and the route 66 amp looked nice. Soundstream reference 405 or 705 were nice.

As for head unites Alpine made the best. If you can find an Alpine 7909 you should buy it.

In all seriousness, was there a "golden age" of car audio? I remember lots of car stereo competitions around the early-mid nineties. It seemed as though the whole swap meet garbage infilitrated the industry, followed by an exodus of American made stuff. I figured that the quality was better nowadays but??????

Orion 425 HCCA, 225 HCCA, 250 HCCA, and a 2100 HCCA. stall the car with a bass hit!! Funny when an amplifier comes preinstalled with a 8 gauge power cable........ "But it is only a 4 channel 25 watt amplifier sir (Iasca judge)"

I'm still rocking my 12 year old W6. Only 1 out of 3 left. I miss the old Fosgate Punch amps with the crossover card you could move. Those things were solid.

I have a 90's Alpine MRV-F400 sitting in the garage waiting for something to put it in. I think it has been in 5 of my cars so far and works great. Had a Punch 40 and Punch 15" sub in my '68 ghia I just got rid of the custom behind the rear seat box a couple years ago.
