To the person with the ABA problem: check the resistance to the fuel rail, and by all means check the timing. My 16v would idle like ****, and only come alive from 3500 up. Turns out the crank nose was sheared, and it would swing wildly 30 degrees retard/advance. How I didn't bend a valve, I'll never know. Either that, or the timing belt skipped a rib.

Changed my fuel filter yesterday and added some seafoam to the fuel. No change after those. So I started poking around and found an exhaust leak before the O2 sensor. I assume it's certainly a large contributor to the problem, if not the only one. Thoughts?

It can throw off your A/F ratio, possibly causing your car to run too lean/rich, if enough is being exhumed out of the leak.

Yeah, that's why I know it definitely needs fixed before I replace anything else trying to track this down. I'm pretty positive I have the parts to fix it except for gaskets, so it will be a cheap fix.

It would be even faster/cheaper to weld the crack closed.

It is a Pacesetter header, which has the donut gasket sealed joint in it before the cat. I've been debating taking it off for a while because of the stupid design and negligible power increase, so I figure this is a perfect time.

i swear people drive faster when snow is flying and sticking on the roads. we get some rain and everyone cant fkn drive. then you get women in big fn suv's that are scared chitless, afraid to pass big trucks, and simply cant keep the peice of chits in their lane. im not the perfect driver but i drive with confidence. i know where im going and how im going to get there. i also dont get people with gps. i usually pass the same damn people to and from work, and they are going down the road staring at the gps. come on. on a side note. saw a cosmic green mk4 gti on ARB around 1 ish. had ohio plates. also saw a black mk4 gli on aristos on the parkway around 215 ish.

the parkway at noon time was awful, full of morons who are afraid of rain and a mile long wait for the tubes.

i will never understand why people drastically slowdown for the tunnels.

Anyone here have the ability to plot, print, cut out a 3ft wide (3ft throat with possibly a 5-6' overal length) template on paper?
