    Update-
I have had a VERY busy summer to say the least at work...have only gotten to use the car 1,000-1,200 miles.
With that said ZERO issues with the oil pan-no buzzer going off,car runs exactly the same as prior. No matter how hard or fast i have driven it no issues.
Sorry sk8ordie-no pics right now...hopefully get a chance to get some soon.
I will go back to lurking

Where did you source the VWMS bits from.

I'd love to get my hands on that wheel and knob, can't be cheap.

    Love your car Tobi!

hmm you've got me rethinking my fender flarelessness. The plate tub and flares look surprisingly good with the smoked headlights.

    Thanks.
I have tried every possible trim option out there to go with my theme...this seems to fit best with the current "phase" of the car.

Hey, very nice jetta...love the look of it. Came across this thread by searching for an oil pan solution..
    here is my Cabbie (16v)

The oil pan issue is a big one. If your friend would be willing to make another, I would gladly pay the big bucks for one. Reinforcing it will only add to the scraping, as you have found out, and I really do not want to change the stance if I do not have to. The way it is now, it really is a matter of time before something ugly happens. Plus, I would really like to have the confidence of actually driving it on unfamiliar roads Thanks in advance.

    thanks.
I suggest my friends pan..his name on here is "fastmaxxcooper".
Pan is highly reinforced...holds about 5 quarts in the pan alone and is almost a full inch shorter than stock.

Update.1,500-1,600 miles on since the oil pan has been on. (yes i know its not much, dont get to use the car often).
Still ZERO issues with the oil pan. I have changed the oil recently and got a little over 5.5 quarts out...nothing seemed out of the ordinary. car runs perfectly fine with no hiccups. I can take on/off ramps at 70km/h.Again nothing crazy but at this height im thrilled.
The new/always been there issue is the control arm pickup points smashing....not much I can do about that without cutting up the whole front of the car itself. or raising it-not an option!
This was just to show the Naysayers that my non baffled pan is sufficient

Thanks again Fastmaxxcooper and Unix performance

NOTE-the non baffling is fine for how I use the vehicle.I am not implying it would be fine on an autocross or track car by any means.

good to hear. control arms are always the part that needs the most work. I'm not willing to do it either.
