time to get to work to take out the old dogbone and insert....

The dogbone was easy, about 5 min to take it out..

However the Insert was other story... it was a b***h... I used every tools I could get my hands on ... pick, pry bar, hammer, flathead screwdriver.... felt like I was killing something...

About an hour and half after... Finally done... Btw the torque for the 2 front is 30 ft lb and the one in the back is 74 ft lb plus 1/4 turn.
i need a , but before that a test drive.

At idle the vibration does feel a bit more and increases as initial acceleration, but the vibration will be gone when the RPM pass 1k... the up and down shift felt cleaner and quick.

Foreverblue, your tips are hanging really low. Mine are much closer than yours. In fact i had to put in washers on the mount to give it 1/4" space and to level it from the valence.

Yea thats like 1/2" gap. Maybe its because of the angle. I'll try to get a pic of mine when i can.

After one month of waiting and some complaining, finally got my driver side storage trim for $60 from the dealer

When I install that sucker, I realized have to take out the metal rack behind it. it should be pretty easy, but working in the dark was a pain.....

So finally get the car dyno with current setup: AFE intake, Borla exhaust, and UM tune. I drove about half hour to Akuma motorsports with Exxon 93 octane. The temperature was around 75, the car was nice and warm ready to get dyno. I will say the result was not bad. Max whp and wtq close to 220. I did a little research and found out average of stock R32 is around 180 at the wheel. 40 hp increase was not bad at all. The next step, install the cams then another dyno.

Are you sure that R is 180 at the wheels ? I have standard Mk5 and from 2 dyno runs average is 209 at the wheels. Dastek Dynamometer 4WD.

Those are my findings. I don't think a lot people dyno stock R32 or my google skill is getting worst.

      http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62895

This one shows stock R32 getting about 140 kw = ~185hp

      I don't know mate.
60-70hp loss through drive train? Maybe due to location-see level.

Could be the dyno machine, too. The links I found, they could use the loaded dyno like Mustang Dyno and Dyno Dynamics aka "Heart Breaker" which is about 13% less then inertia dynos like Dyno Jet and Dastek Dyno.

I think that is why your read out is higher.

This is a good read, they talk about the difference between the loaded dyno and inertia dyno.

Many thanks for a links, will read them later on

Dastek has correctly measured my engine power and torque(manufacturer is claiming nearly same values) but value at the wheels is incorrect ?

I'm sorry for stupid questions,I'm not expert.

After you read that link, should answer your question. One thing I will say your value at the wheels is not incorrect. It is the housepower read out from that Dyno machine. The most important thing to remember is that a dyno is a testing tool. If the numbers keep increasing, then you’re doing the right thing.

Yeah we can't compare dyno printouts because of xyz different settings and conditions.
      I got it now

So where we can get true measurement of the power at the wheels ?
      Butt dyno ????

First a BIG thanks to Mike, Dennis, and Mike at the LindenVW. They took the time to install the cams. After the install, they told me, the knock sensor is going soon so they order one for me ahead. As I driving home, check engine light came on, shows the faulty code P0327 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input (Bank 1 or Single Sensor). This morning Dennis send me an email ask about how was the ride home. I told him about the knock sensor, he said the sensor should be there on Wed then just come in they will take care of it. They have great service and good price and really took care of me on this installation. Great guys

Because my knock sensor is bad, I felt the car lost power and hesitate. I pull up the timing advance on my GPS (Garmin nüvi 3790T + ecoRoute HD), it is all over the place. I will wait until the sensor replace then do the dyno.
