My inspiration for this build comes from a cabrio built by 1552 back in Oct 1998 issue of PVW. They called it the silver shadow. I've been wanted to build this car for about 10 years. So finally I'm back in a MK3.

I'm not going to build an exact replica of it. It will have an abt/BBR widebody kit on it and some ABT goodies.

    And Project Mayhem begins.

starting the installation of the front flares.

need to cut the rocker panel to fit these fenders

theirs some mad prep need on these fenders before any paint. The mold quality isn't that great.

    gaps need to be fixed

The thick rockers are on a cabrio to support the frame, you'd be better off cutting the fenders.

The rocker panel reinforcement is the intack I'm just cutting the side skirt skin off and will be notching it to fit the fender. No compromise to the integrity at all.

Thanks Brad once i get this kit on I'll be in your shop for parts for sure.

Thanks for watching my thread guys I'm going to do my best on this build. I'm not going to paint this one though. Not sure who is going to paint it yet.

Once I get the fenders on I want to get a european trunk for it.

here is a back story on the ABT wheels they where severely bent. and this still lip wasn't available anymore. I forgot to take a picture of the front of the bent rim maybe rallydube has one. But here is the barrel of it.

it looked like this but it was bent bad.
