So i baught my girlfriend a car and we try to transfer the title. But apparently the guy we bught it from had givin us the old title, we contact him he tells us we will get it taken care of and that it was his aunts car yada yada yada, so thats great but what does the affidavit do? Will we have to wait to get the title for 3 years or dose the affidavit act as the title and we receive a new title as usual?

What does it take to do away with front license plate? I thought the state needs money.....wouldn't that help out the state if front plate not required? 50% reduction in plates production. I feel like the damn state only know how to waste money.....oh yeah let raise more tax to fix their spending.....sorry I'm not mad at you but just venting...

what you need is a notarized release of interest (it can be on an affidavit of loss) from the owners of record and then we can get you a title. If you call the office tomorrow (360-479-4793) and give us the plate number we can confirm that you are dealing with the correct owners IF you have the name of the owners.
If you do not know or are dealing with someone other than the owner, print up fill out and mail or fax this to the state to find out who you need to get the releases from.

Once you have release from the owner we should be able to put it in your name and get you a title.

I posted your info over on an Audi board so I hope it brings some people your way!
So while cleaning the garage this week I found a bunch of plates for cars i've had over the years.
Is there a way to see if they're out of the system and clear? And where can I dispose of them?
Oh I bought another weird vehicle and I will give you a call once I get the paperwork from the government. Hehe
Thanks in advance!
I really wish everyone would update their location in their profile!

Chris - thanks for doing this. I have one question:
If I lease a new car, does the license tab renewal notice go to the dealer (and dealer has to send it to me) or to me directly?

So I'm about to trade with a guy who has an affidavit, will this cause me any hassle at the dmv?

I am moving from FL pretty soon and want to keep FL tags as long as I can due to financial burden...cars are 06 SI and 99 Grand Marquis...how much will it cost me to get WA plates and title? How long can I wait to go to DOL to change it over?
#125
So this is from the thread I created I've contacted sedro Woolley police already but didn't really get much of any answer from the officer that contacted me, I've got to imagine running a fake wa plate with someone else's tags has got to be highly illegal. What should/could I do that I haven't already? I don't want to get in trouble for something somebody else did with a copy of my plate

My dad bought a 1930 ford model A a couple weeks back. He bought it from a old farmer that has owned it since the 60's the old man had lost the title, but had the plate for it so we figured we could do a noterized bill of sale... long story short, it wasn't in the system. So, my question is, can you tell me what we need to do to get it in my dads name?
#127
You will need to get it inspected by the WSP and file for ownership in doubt, your local licensing office can help you with the procedure. I would suggest you bond if its going to have a lot of time and money put into it!
If you are not military you should do it with in 30 days of establishing residence or getting a job.
Fees depend on where you live, call the office (360) 479-4793 and we can run a price for you!

question. i just bought a insurance totalled caddy from a friend. i plan on parting it and scrapping the shell.
besides the vehicle report of sale for the seller and giving me the signed title, is there anything else either of us should do?
i think the seller came across this http://www.dol.wa.gov/forms/420080.pdf
and now questioning if all was done to clear his name of this VW.
thanks in advance for your help

What do you do with specialized license plates (specifically, Veteran plates) when you sell the car. Do they go with the car? Surrender to DOL? Keep? Transfer to other vehicle?

don't know if this is the help you need

What about moving from OR to WA. Need to register and do that whole shebang for WA. How to go about and what are the costs? I'd really like to not sit at the DMV for 4 hours![]()
