Thanks.
Took a little trip to help my buddy with his. MKI 1.8t beater.
Wiring mess being dealt with.
Problem solved. part of his issues came from a faulty ignition switch and having his ecu switched power run down stream of the load reduction relay. We got that straightened out and went for a cruise. This is after tightening the lugs.

I call the MKI a beater, but it's actually not that bad. It's a solid shell and I'm sure once Matt gives her a little love it will be a great little car.
Wanted to share a little update on the Jetta.
I got a text from my friend and the hubs and rotors are done. Need to pick up some wheel bearings and VR CVs for that project and I finally got the trans cleaned up.
I have been using this technique for years and nothing beats it short of having parts hot tanked.
-1 part dirty ass trans(I did do some cleaning to get the majority of the grease and dirt off)
-1 part Easy Off Oven Cleaner
-Rinse off at the Quarter car wash
Voila! Clean trans

Really nice build man, I have a couple questions for you..
Where did you hide the ignition coil?
Did you just cap off the coolant overflow on the head, it almost looks like its routed into one of the heater hoses but hard to see?
Just to verify you got rid of the ABA headlight 'connector' and just ran directly to the fusebox?
Thanks for your help![]()

Let's see if I can help,
The ignition coil is mounted inside the drivers fender just behind the fuse box. Really hard to get a good pic there. You can just see the mounting points in the very top of this pic just right of the black part:
They are threaded inserts, the coil is on the inside.
The coolant ung is just capped.
There are two OBDI harnesses, one with and integrated headlight harness and one without. I had the one with, but stripped everything out. I ran new wires for the lights I was going to use.
Couple pics from a GTG this weekend

Aba in a shaved bay mk2 coupe project checking in. I see what you did for the extra rubber on the upper radiator hose, but what did you do with the lower hose? Hack it up or use a different application's hose than the mk3?
Great work, btw.

Put the Jetta into hibernation yesterday. The Golf is coming along. Hope to get a bunch done this week. The floors are done, the rocker is at 90% should be done tonight. Still need to tackle the rear wheelhouse and filler area and bust out the bomb cans. Oh, I need to get the parking brake operational for winter fun! Feel free to stop by.

Thanks. Should be coming out of storage in the next week. I've got a bunch of stuff waiting to go on . Stay tuned for updates.
In the off season, I built a new low budget DD and sold the A4 to free up some cash.

Yep. Just went to PG today and pulled the harness from an OBDII car. Got the Chip and injectors in the mail the other day. 5 lug first need to get those wheels on. Got a set of MKIII speedlines for track day fun.
I need to get this Deezl out of the garage so I can bring her home.

Went and grabbed the car out of storage! Although it's back home, I have to get this MKIII carcass out of my garage before any real work can go down.
Having it home will add motivation at least.
