I tried searching for this answer and only found MkV Golf treads. I'm recently on coilovers and need to do the rear-screw-mod like, yesterday. Is there anything else to this other than taking the bumper screw out? It seems like there is still the plastic tab there that would still rub and push the side of the bumper out a bit.

Anyone have a complete mod instruction for this if indeed it entails more than a screwdriver?

Thanks in advanced for the assistance...!

Just take the screw out is what I've heard. It is a torx head screw. Maybe a little file work if that tab still rubs. Good luck. How are the HPA coilovers riding other than having the rub? Hope we can get together and compare rides sometime this summer.

It'll rub even worse once you get an alignment.

only if you want factory specs, lol. You can align it so it wont rub, VIP style.

Off topic but can you post pics of the HPA setup on your car? I have not installed mine yet and would like to see what to expect when I install it.

Thanks y'all! It might not rain in Seattle tomorrow so I'll remove the rear screw, shine her up and post pics. Achtun!ng installed them at the highest setting and did alignment because I don't want negative camber. I think I want it a cm higher in back and cm lower in front as it sits now. I know you will all help with input. I'll do the shoot at the same local as I did last week to get a good compare/contrast.

FYI: the ride is stellar and the car feels lighter somehow. Very OEM in ride with less small motions transferred into the cabin. I'll post all this stuff in new post so the HPA GB peeps can share findings and help each other.

    Cheers...

Bad experience on my Volvo V70R with going through tires too fast due to my driving needs.

How much negative are you running and what are the pros/cons in your opinion? I'm not totally against it ...

Also, did you cutoff the rear screw tab as well?

when i get home later this week ill take pics of my wheel well. Im running about -2 degrees of negative camber in the rear. I need to reinstall my suspension as I had it rebuilt over the winter...in currently running stock size rubber on OZ wheels. Still have the NT01's waiting to be mounted

in terms of camber it should resolve your issues with rubbing in the rear along with some fender liner work. Just get a proper alignment as your TOE setting will change and if not fixed you will go through tires fast as you will essentially be dragging them along. The beauty of running the same size tires on all 4 corners is it allows you to rotate tires to limit the wear of which I have not had any issues with abnormal wear. You would most likely need camber plates but where you really benefit having camber is up front in terms of the handling department.

In terms of my modifications, I had the screw that holds the rear 1/4 panel and bumper together modified by grinding the shoulder of the head down...I may have eventually removed it
The tabs mentioned I bent in and removed any fender liner that showed any signed of rubbing.

unless your planning on trying to drift it because you just saw fast 5 excessive rear camber is pointless. anything more than like 1.5-2 degrees is just gonna make you burn tires faster.

but if ridiculous camber makes you cool then that black lexus(?) winz

    he so coo

LOL at this being called a mod. its not hard to take out the 2 bolts, they only give you like 2mm more clearance anyways.

I need to do this. Will the rear wall liners fall off if I remove those 2 screws?

    nope, nothing will happen

I wish I weren't so lazy right now so that I could link you to who answered my same question with something along the lines of "I'll go outside and check to make sure my bumper is still attached"

8mm spacers got me in to this rubbing issue. Now it's a little better after I hit a big dip on the highway.

    Two Solutions:

    1. Don't lower your car.

    2. Learn that rubbing issues (and a variety of other issues) will come with lowering a car, if you don't like it refer to solution #1.

I think I will get an exhaust so I don't hear the rubbing too much.
