1.8L out of 91 Jetta

Mostly stock 1.8L with all new seals and forged pistons, few new parts and again ALL NEW SEALS, i assembled this motor mostly by using a Bentley manual and the only problem i had with it was a timing issue.

I also am selling just about everything from the car, minus the body!

What pistons are in it? Brand, comp ratio? Is this a PL block?

To the best of my knowledge its just a PF engine with forged pistons in it, but i dont know the exact brand.

I bought it off a friend about a year ago and he had done about half the rebuild when he sold it to me, once i had it i finished the rebuild and put it in my car.

If i can get a hold of my old friend ill ask for info, but for now thats about all i know!

the few times we had it up and running it sounded like it was firing too early and then a few times like it was firing late...had an older mechanic friend help me out a couple times and we had it spot on once and after a little bit it was out of time again, may have just been the timing belt

i am pretty much broke and would much rather spend any little bit of money i have on getting and building up a VR6 than a 1.8

and do you still have the ecu? not sure if i fried my girlfriend's or not. I accidentally hooked up a battery the wrong way. The ground wires in her car were red, and the power wires were black..lol

or if anyone is crazy enough to pick up on this deal...come get 2 motors for $400, if you come by the end of next week as in (October 22) i will let both motors and everything i have go for $300 and thats you picking up

i will ship some parts and im willing to part motors out...but will not take the head completely apart...make offers...and i have 2 mostly complete motors!
