Thread: Can I use an skc to deactivate immo?

    1. 05-05-2011 05:11 AM #1
I have an 2002 jetta GLS and want to de-activate the immobilizer. I believe I have the
7 digit skc black tag. Its like the one pictured in this link except it just has the digits on the left NOT the right. Can anyone confirm?

There's no such thing as a 7 digit SKC tag, so no.

I can help you with this with proper documents submitted.

If you want to swap clusters then you Will need SKC and do swap procedure, in your case you will need SKC from both clusters:
      http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...ent_Cluster%29
Immo delete can be done ONLY in ECU , It CAN NOT be done in Cluster.
Cars after 2001 did not have SKC on tag , and the cars who had SKC on tag it was ONLY 4 digit code.

      Hey guys,

Immo defeat can be done in the cluster and the engine ecu.
I do this for people who don't want a key light for the keys not just the ecu response sent back.
You can email me direct for legal forms.
Already answered you in the PM. Stokes.
To do a transfer even with both skc codes in VCDS or VAS tester will result a second Vin identity displayed in the cluster.
      This you don't want.

      Hey Jetta97

Why would you go as far as to say it cant be done in the cluster?

Yes you can delete/defeat the immo function in the cluster, just as you can in the engine ecu, its just a matter of knowing what to do.

You said the same thing about the packet TX/RX on CAN for W not being possible, when I truely know it is for sending back data to shut the key light out in cluster from ECU response.

You are correct on the VIN data if you are creative which most are not like you are, there is a way to do it.

So whats up man, is it busy in TX?

      best,
      Jack

That's not an SKC, it's actually called a "key code" which corresponds to the physical key profile for your car. Every once in a while on that black tag there would be another half of that white sticker - to the right. It would have had the SKC, I got one with our 04' Passat.
