I'll start this update by saying how much i love Techtonics Tuning products. Seriously, this header is exquisite for the money. I payed 440 shipped for this header and exhaust, and i could not have spent my money better. 1.75" race header-2.25" system with resonator and Magnaflow.

My intake came in, but it's not going on yet

      Honda parts=reliability
      Mild trimming in order.

      Pullies n' shiiiiit!

Passenger window works now, and panels are "together"

      I love this GD header

Oh, and i grabbed a cheap TT276 cam to replace my 268 Yea yea, it's safe for now considering my ****ty stock valves.

It gets pretty close in a couple places, so i should do some kind of heat shielding, but i wasn't planning on it.

I'll be thinking about it. I've just never put that stuff on any of my cars. The gti, i always have plenty of time to get the car as cool as i want(but it runs better hot anyway).

How did the dual engine one do?

I think i'm taking the rules a little differently than some others, haha. To me, the budget is more an exercise of finding a super simple and good performing combination. That's just too damn stressful for me!

you should cut a hole in the hood and put a schweet ash hood scoop from autozone or somehting mang.

or do that thing where they gap the rear of the hood so it acts like one giant louver. ive seen pics before but i couldnt find em.

I've been in Ocean City since Wednesday....my last day of teaching for the summer. It's on now. I junkyarded a good alternator and obd2 dizzy this morning, and installed them on the car.($44).

Looking through my parts shed, i realized i had a newish mk3 rad from the parts mk3 i bought for this project. The mk1 hoses i have suck, and the mk3 hoses fit weird. After considering how i feel like it'd be cool to not worry about staying cool in this car, i decided to make the mk3 rad fit. It BARELY clears my hood after some trimming. Pics up later.

Extra 8sq/in of radiator face, and a fresher rad. Extra few pounds though.

That honda shroud looks like it fits nicely.

Hopefully I get some pictures of progress soon.

Yea man, i'm pumped about this fitment. I'm actually filling in at the shop on the register for the next 3 nights, so i'm hoping to pull the car into the first bay and get some details handled.

Get that thing done! I'm interested to see what kind of power you're going to be playing with.

Last night, i spent forever trimming up in the back of the bay, cleaning up the cowl area, and riveting in filler plates for hvac holes. Then paint.

Tonight was a planning, I'm going to do lots of stuff tomorrow, kind of night. I wanted to take my stock intake off to do a couple things to it to pick up some hood clearance for the throttle body. I had to bolt up the sri.

One look, and i was no longer interested in that stock lump of ugly cast, haha. I need a longer throttle cable.

Other than that, I figured out placement for a deka etx18l (out of my sitting gti), and started to make battery cables. Tomorrow, i'll execute the best way i could think to mount this mk3 fusebox, and do my wiring. It's really not much wiring, which is nice.

Engine bay looks pretty good for just sheet metal and rivets.

      Long night.

-Ran fuel hose, figured out how i'm going to mount my filter, and how i'm going to use the cis pump.
-Got all my coolant hoses tied up. Had to get a little creative with the bottom rad!
-Painted some lower engine bay sections that werent very white
-Made a cai intake pipe out of an old civic intake that i've been sitting on for yeeears
      -Found a bunch of bolts

      Waiting on:
      -Cam
      -Tbody gasket
      -New coolant tank
-Thermostat(though i'm not sold that i want it functioning right now. I hate dealing with 2liter cooling systems). I might just knock the center out of an old one, and jam it in there.

      Need:
      -Longer throttle cable
      -Eyelet crimp-on battery cable ends
      -A passenger seat, haha
      -Air filter and silicone couplers
-39.5-41" 6 rib belt. Shortest we had at the shop was a 41.5", and it was a tick too long

      Got to wire:
      -Fusebox powers and grounds
      -Fuel pump, and level sensor
      -Maf
      -ignition switch

I never posted it in here, but i filled my motor mounts with window weld. Just in case somebody's browsing in here and doesn't have a bunch of honda friends to see this technique.

I just watched my friend do that the other day to his trans mount, cheap and effective I guess.

      I used urethane from menards.

I'm turbod and these take abuse. The motor does lift a little but its better than paying BFI for their mounts.

      The car

And what model honda did that fan come from? Civic I presume..

It varies depending on what tires i end up running. Not all the parts i have will be on the car for the challenge. As it sits, probably 1500 or so, but the tires are 220 of that.

Getting there. I'm hoping to start this bitch either late Saturday night or early sunday morning. I've got a pretty specific list of things that need finishing.

Here's where we're at. I'm going to pretty it up later.

I intentionally chose a mk3 fuel filter for styling purposes, and you can't really tell from the pic, but i made a little bracket out of old, patina'd aba exhaust manifold heatshield brackets and an old radiator mount kit. I'm going to get a metal cable tie. (NOT my welds )

I must have looked at this thing 100 times, and just decided to wait until i got a reasonable idea to mount this stupid fusebox. This is what i ended up with. Scrap aluminum we had around, jb weld, and a couple bolts. I like the placement, and i'm going to mount my ecu there too.

I worked a sale of my 268 to get this brand new 276 for very little money on top of it. Lub lub lub.

Getting everything permanent. I'm getting so close, and i'm so sick of not having this thing running. Tomorrow? Next week? who knows. I got ALOT done today.

      To start, I need to:
-Get something better than duct tape to fix my intake to my throttle body.
-Make a b4 passat throttle cable work
-Put gas and coolant in it
-Wire fuel pump, and ignition switch
-Make a jumper wire for the mk1 starter
      -Plugs/wires
-Make sure my mk3 clutch safety switch, and alarm are bypassed correctly
      -Plug a couple things in
      -vac lines

I think i just need a ecu relay now.

Of course i'd love to just blame it on a part. I'm sure that's not all that's wrong/missing.

      Damnit.....car.

I haven't been able to get to a yard to get the relay i need.

      Buuuuuut.

I scored a brand new set of passed around Mickey Thompson et drag 20x8x14's locally, from a friend. Exactly what i wanted. Too many guys go too big with slicks. I always liked a smaller tire and a taller fd....20" slicks and a 3.94 fd means that at 100mph(around what i'm expecting on the motor), it will be turning ~7200rpm. Once i start messing with spray, i might just do the 3.67 gears. Maybe just a longer 4th. Nerdy wit it.

      Freakin score.

Now i just need turny tires.
