    What budget?

My Haltech Harness is currently getting new pins and fancy shrink wrap. Hoping to start in a week.

I've been watching classifieds like a hawk.

I picked up a 2y with a quaife through some fancy trading. That's got the 3.67's in it, which i'll just try first. I'll eventually put the 3.94 fd into that trans. It also has a mk3 5th gear

I have 2 16v pressure plates now, one new, one used. I have a clutchnet kevlar full face for a small spline, and a 6 puck for a big spline.

    2 lwfw's

    Delrin inserts.

In these deals, i also acquired 2 sets of usrt linkage, one new one used.

So, that takes care of everything that would make me hesitant to race the car. It's going to get beat on soon.

Got a pic of my harness today

The car's basically been sitting. I messed with it a little, moved the battery to the front crossmember, put the mk1 rad back in with a single 12" pusher, put on my bfi front mount, and mk3 starter.

I have the trans with the quaife now, but i don't want to buy axles yet, so i'm just running the stock 2h for a little bit. oem 90mm joints in there now. We'll see what goes first, and axle, a clutch, or a diff.

It's looking like this thing should be running this weekend.

Big thanks to Kevin Black for hooking this **** up. Kevin made the harness above, and is putting a basemap on my ecu, and mailing it to me today.

    Parts coming in this week:
    Tachometer
    Ebay block breather plug
    rocco 16v throttle cable
All the clutch bolts to put on my nice clutch parts whenever that time comes.

Once it's running, time to iron out details, and get ready for tuning!

So, the harness and ecu arrived yesterday(Monday). It looks really legit. I couldn't get a whole lot of time at the shop, but i was able to fix a couple leaky coolant hoses, and plug the harness in, and lay it out.

    To Start,

    3 powers to the battery
    1 ground to the battery
    1 ground to the chassis
1 switched 12v wire to my ignition switch
    and 1 fuel pump wire
And extend the mk1 fusebox power and grounds to the new battery placement

Do you guys think a 4 guage ground cable from the block to one of the front motormount bolts is sufficient?

Oh, and i changed my thread title.

I used an 8 gauge for my ground wire, so yeah you should be good with that.

ROOT is right. I never knew how to port anything myself. then I met my Girlfriend, her grandpa was the only man who knew how to do it in ths country!!...the company he worked for stopped taking in PORT-Jobs when he retired. Now racers send all their heads out to south africa.

But hey!! he told me to buy the tools, and go on google. Took a while to learn. but now I know how to. Just the tools are too cheap. aaahhh!!!

    Thanks fellas.

Yes! I need some chassis support in a bad way. I have a big beefy 4 point lower chassis brace, but the rear section of it doesn't clear my header. I'll probably end up making something. At some point, i'll probably be making a front crossmember for it, and cutting this one out. The previous owner of this car did some weak flux core stitch welding on this front end, but i'm going to have to go back and do that right sometime.

I got working on this thing again this week. I'm basically shooting to have it ready, 100% buttoned up before tagging and heading to the track when it opens in March.

Soooo, i've been working on the dash. I got some big sheets of 1/16" abs plastic from my local metal supply shop. I made panels to delete all the vents in the dash. I also hole sawed the dash up a bit, then painted it black with vinyl/fabric paint. Looks ok, i'm pleased.

As far as guages, i'm just running a tach, mounted on black abs, where the stock cluster would have been. I'm going to set up an abbreviated, easily removable radio in the center console with oil pressure, and maybe 1 or 2 more small guages. Ecu will be in the glovebox.

I need to get pictures soon...haven't updated this in ages because my progress is depressing.

Yea, i'm really jazzed to finally be working on the thing again.

Not pictured, i also tied the harness up on this cutting board type material. Self tappered all the relays and fuse block to it. Tyte.
